Yildirim Promoted to Marine Manager at APC

Advanced Polymer Coatings (APC), based here, has elevated Captain Onur Yildirim to the newly created position of Marine Manager. In his new role, Captain Yildirim will manage the company’s marine coatings operation globally including sales, technical, and after-sales service, working closely with APC senior management. Prior to this role, he held a number of positions at APC, most recently from 2012 to 2018 as Global Technical Manager, overseeing the global technical team including after-sales service. From 2009 to 2012, Captain Yildirim was Technical Manager of Korea and Southeast Asia, responsible for organizing, training and heading the regional technical team, communicating with customers and managing the regional office.

Pankaj Khanna Appointed As CEO of Ocean Rig

Pankaj Khanna has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Rig UDW, a global provider of offshore deepwater drilling services,  effective January 1, 2018. Khanna is 47 years old with 29 years of varied experience in the maritime & offshore industry. He last served as Chief Executive Officer of Pioneer Marine Inc, a drybulk company that he founded in 2013. Prior to his position at Pioneer Marine Inc Khanna served as Chief Marketing Officer at Ocean Rig UDW Inc. from January 1, 2012 to October 2, 2012. Mr. Khanna served as the Chief Operating Officer of DryShips, Inc. from March 2009 to October 2, 2012. Prior to joining DryShips, he served in C-Suite roles at Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd and Alba Maritime Services S.A.

Security Studies Program Opens

A new distance learning course in Security Studies equips you for a world of career opportunities with flexible part-time study options from Postgraduate Certificate to Master of Science. Taught and awarded by London Metropolitan University, the program starts on November 25, 2013. Enrolment for the PGCert (11 months), PGDip (21 months) and MSc (26 months) closes on November 11. The course has been developed by a renowned team at the University in conjunction with the John Grieve Center for Policing and Community Safety. It is delivered in partnership with IBC Academy, an experienced provider of distance learning education. IBC Academy has many years’ experience offering education and development courses for personnel in a wide range of sectors looking to boost their career trajectory.
