Aker Solutions, Cognite Win $2M Grant for Floating Wind Farm Tech

California Energy Commission has awarded Aker Solutions and Cognite a $2 million grant for a project called NextWind Real-Time Condition Monitoring.The project is focused on next-generation solutions in wind through digitalization and aims to develop a holistic digital solution that will enable monitoring the condition of an offshore floating wind farm and its impact on the environment via live data streaming.Aker Solutions, partnering with Cognite, was selected for the grant award as part of the California Energy Commission's Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC).

Aker Solutions reports Q4 2018 revenue of $813 million, an 8% rise compared to Q4 2017 powered by “significant international awards in a competitive, but improving market.” In total, order intake for the quarter was $615.6 million, leaving the company with an order backlog of more than $4 billion. Aker Solutions Wins Services Contract with Petrobras

Petrobras has awarded Aker Solutions a contract to provide maintenance and modifications services for nine platforms at oil and gas fields in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.The Campos Basin extends approximately 100,000 square kilometers. The three-year contract is valued at more than BRL 250 million and includes an option for a two-year extension.Aker Solutions will be renovating, repairing and upgrading offshore production units for Petrobras' Campos Basin Operational Unit (UO-BC). Aker Solutions Signs Agreement with Petrobras

Norwegian oilfield services company Aker Solutions has won a contract to provide maintenance and modifications services for three platforms at Petrobras-operated oil and gas fields offshore Brazil. The four-year contract is valued at about NOK 800 million ($101.5 million) and includes an option for a one-year extension. The order covers a range of services to renovate, repair and upgrade the floating production storage and offloading platforms, or FPSOs, at the Barracuda, Caratinga and Albacora Leste fields in the Campos Basin. It also entails management at the yard where replacement parts and other equipment will be fabricated. "Brazil is an important global market and growth area for servicing oil and gas fields," said Aker Solutions Chief Executive Officer Luis Araujo.

Aker Enters Offshore Floating Wind Market

Norwegian oil and gas specialist Aker Solutions has invested in floating wind power technology company Principle Power, with the aim to brings its offshore oil and gas field engineering experience to the renewable energy market. Aker Solutions has an extensive track record in developing offshore oil and gas fields, with particular capabilities in floating facilities. The partnership will help bring Principle Power's technology - an innovative floating foundation for offshore wind turbines, known as WindFloat - to a broader market. "We see a major opportunity in offshore floating wind where demand is growing in the transition to a low-carbon future," said Aker Solutions Chief Executive Officer Luis Araujo.

Aker Solutions Secures Work for Njord A Upgrade

Aker Solutions will provide design engineering for the upgrading of the semi-submersible Njord A platform in Norway. The company will as a subcontractor of Kvaerner take part in upgrading the platform after operator Statoil exercised an option in an agreement awarded in April 2016. The option is for work in the engineering, procurement and construction phase of the project. Aker Solutions' share of the work is valued at about NOK 1 billion and will be booked in the company's first-quarter orders.

Aker Wins Hook-Up Deal for Johan Sverdrup Field

Aker Solutions won a contract from Statoil for the hook-up of the riser platform for the Johan Sverdrup field, Norway's largest offshore development in the past three decades. The company will work closely with subcontractor Kvaerner on joining together the platform's seven modules, which will be transported to Norway in the second quarter of 2018. The scope also covers planning, management and prefabrication. The contract value is approximately NOK 900 million and will be split about equally between Aker Solutions and Kvaerner. Aker Solutions Revenue Steady

EBITDA margin ex. EBIT margin ex. Aker Solutions' revenue was steady at NOK 8 billion in the second quarter of 2015 from a year earlier amid progress on major projects from Africa to Norway and Brazil. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were NOK 376 million, compared with NOK 472 million a year earlier. Aker Solutions secured NOK 3.4 billion in orders in the quarter, including a key maintenance, modifications and operations contract from ExxonMobil for engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services at the Hebron oilfield offshore Canada. The company won strategically significant orders for early-phase studies for existing and potential offshore field developments in Malaysia, Australia, the Gulf of Mexico and Norway, including the Barents Sea.

Aker Solutions 1Q 2015 Revenue Up

Aker Solutions announced their Financial Results for the first quarter of the current calendar year. * EBIT margin ex. Aker Solutions' revenue rose 14 percent to NOK 8.5 billion in the first quarter of 2015 from a year earlier, boosted by progress on major projects from Angola to Brazil and Norway. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) fell 22 percent to NOK 409 million in the quarter from a year earlier. The EBIT margin in the same period narrowed to 4.8 percent from 7 percent. Earnings were impacted by costs of overcapacity in the maintenance, modifications and operations (MMO) workforce, a NOK 52 million provision to cover lease costs for vacated office space and a NOK 26 million write-off on some subsea technology.

Changes in Aker Solutions' Top Deck

Tore Sjursen will assume the position as executive vice president for operational improvement and risk management at Aker Solutions on April 1. Knut Sandvik will at the same time replace Sjursen as head of the company's maintenance, modifications and operations business. Sjursen will be based in Oslo and be responsible for the corporate center functions Enterprise Risk Management, Tendering and Corporate Risk Committee, Health, Safety and Environment, Quality and Performance and Operational Audit. He will also be responsible for developing and coordinating company-wide improvement agendas, monitoring business area improvement initiatives and reporting on progress to the board of directors.

Aker Solutions Post 4Q 2014 Results

*EBIT margin ex. Aker Solutions revenue rose 21 percent to NOK 9.2 billion in the fourth quarter of 2014 from a year earlier, helped by strong progress on major projects across the global business. Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) climbed to NOK 557 million in the quarter from NOK 486 million a year earlier. The EBIT margin narrowed to 6.1 percent from 6.4 percent amid a slowdown in the Norwegian maintenance, modifications and operations (MMO) market and as some major subsea projects are still in a start-up phase. This was partly offset by strong project execution at the U.S. umbilicals plant, improved capacity utilization in the engineering area and reduced overhead costs in MMO. The EBIT margin, excluding one-off items, was 6.8 percent.

Aker Solutions Starts Trading After Company Split

Aker Solutions today started trading on the Oslo stock exchange as a leaner and more streamlined company that will build on its strengths in the subsea and field design markets. Aker Solutions Reports Earnings Prior to Split

Aker Solutions reports its second-quarter 2014 earnings ahead of its plan to split into two companies at the end of September 2014. One company will keep the current name and be comprised of the Subsea, Umbilicals, Engineering, and Maintenance, Modifications and Operations (MMO) areas. Aker adds that pro-forma second-quarter revenue for the new Aker Solutions rose to NOK 8.1 billion from NOK 7.5 billion a year earlier, helped by a 13 percent increase in sales of subsea equipment and services. The new company's pro forma earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased to NOK 592 million in the quarter from NOK 481 million a year earlier.

Aker Solutions today laid the foundation stone of a new plant in Paraná that will double the company's subsea production capacity in Brazil. The plant in the city of São José dos Pinhais in the Paraná state in Brazil will be operational in 2015. It will replace Aker Solutions' current subsea manufacturing facility in Curitiba and double production capacity in the country. Aker Solutions' Executive Chairman Øyvind Eriksen and Luis Araujo, president and country manager of the company's Brazilian operations, took part in a ceremony laying the foundation stone at the new site.

Aker Solutions Awarded Frame Agreement

Aker Solutions has entered a frame agreement with Petrobras to provide subsea equipment for the oil company's deepwater pre-salt field developments in Brazil. The contract value is approximately $800 million (USD). The scope of work is for 60 well-sets with vertical subsea trees, subsea control systems, tools and spares within the 2014-2018 period. Petrobras will deploy the 60 well-sets in the pre-salt field developments located 300 kilometres off the São Paulo coast in the Santos Basin. "We are committed to developing the subsea industry in Brazil by growing our Brazilian expertise supported by our international competence network," says Luis Araujo, president and country manager of Aker Solutions in Brazil.
