Belgium-based Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering NV (DEME) said that its installation vessel ‘Innovation’ will set sail to the Belgian North Sea with the first load of 58 turbine foundations and transition pieces for installation at the SeaMade offshore wind farm.Currently the first monopiles and transition pieces are being loaded at SIF Holdings' Maasvlakte terminal in Rotterdam.With a 487 MW capacity SeaMade is the largest offshore wind farm in Belgium. SeaMade stands for a combination of two offshore wind projects, previously known as Mermaid (235 MW) and Seastar (252 MW).DEME’s scope includes the installation of the 58 foundations and all inter-array cables, the installation of two offshore substations and the 220 kV submarine high voltage cable installation.

In the near future, a physical Customs document will no longer be required to transfer containers from one Maasvlakte terminal to the other within the Port of Rotterdam. Participating terminals APMT, ECT and RWG have made agreements with the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration for a so-called ‘paperless transfer’ system, which, beginning July 1, 2016, will considerably reduce the administrative workload – particularly for shipping lines – and simplify the exchange of containers between Maasvlakte’s five deep-sea terminals.

Baltica Line has risen the frequency of its Saint Petersburg service . By deploying a third vessel it is possible to offer a sailing from Rotterdam every five days instead of 10. So far Van Dijk was leader of the social democrat party in the municipal council. Morcon intends to take over Uniport container terminal. The latter is not considered part of the core business of its present owner Kühne & Nagel anymore. Morcon already owns a distribution terminal in Moerdijk and three empty depots and a container terminal in Rotterdam. Last year this terminal handled 115,000 containers. Uniport expects to handle 200,000 containers in 2000.
