Wärtsilä Integrated Solutions for Maersk's AHTS Vessels

A new series of six Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels to be built at the Kleven Verft AS in Norway for the Danish based Maersk Supply Service A/S - part of the A. P. Møller-Mærsk Group, will feature fully integrated solutions from Wärtsilä. There is an option for an additional four vessels within this series. The contract with Wärtsilä was signed in November. The 95 metre long vessels will be utilised in deep water offshore oilfield operations, with reliability, safety, and uptime specified as being priority requirements. Wärtsilä's responsibility encompasses the complete power generation solution, electrical distribution and drives system, vessel automation system and propulsion system.

Wärtsilä wins ship design contract for environmentally sound Gulf of Bothnia ferry

Wärtsilä has been selected as the partner for designing a new ferry as part of the Midway Alignment of the Bothnian Corridor project. The scope of the design work will be both initial and basic design. The ferry is designed for sailing between Vaasa in Finland and Umeå in Sweden across the Gulf of Bothnia in the Baltic Sea. Wärtsilä Wins First Contract for New Arctic PSV Design

A new platform supply vessel (PSV) to be built for operating in arctic conditions is to be designed and powered by Wärtsilä. This is the first confirmed contract for Wärtsilä Ship Design's new series of arctic PSVs. Wärtsilä will also supply an integrated package that includes machinery, and the electrical and automation systems, including the patented Wärtsilä Low Loss Concept (LLC). This highly redundant diesel-electric system provides additional reliability for continuous operation in various failure modes. The contracts with Kleven Verft AS were signed in January 2014.

Siem Offshore has again contracted Wärtsilä to supply the design and integrated solutions for four new platform supply vessels (PSVs) to be built at the Remontowa Shipbuilding yard in Poland. Offshore DP3 Propulsion Package Order for Wärtsilä

Wärtsilä say they have signed a repeat integrated solution order with the COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co.Ltd shipyard covering another DP3 Dynamically Positioned offshore accommodation rig being built for Singapore based Axis Offshore. The Wärtsilä solution includes the main power generation system, the propulsion system, the electric and automation system, and the automation safety system. The vessel, which is expected to enter service in January 2016, will be equipped with a DP3 dynamic positioning system and will be available for worldwide operations.

North Sea FPSO Power Contract for Wärtsilä

Wärtsilä say they are to supply a 62 MW topside power module solution for a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel to be deployed at the Kraken oilfield located in the U.K. sector of the North Sea. This EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) award comes from Armada Kraken Pte.Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Malaysia based international offshore oilfield services provider, Bumi Armada. Bumi Armada will be using a recently built Suezmax tanker for the FPSO conversion, which will have a storage capacity of 600,000 barrels.

China Shipyard Contracts For Wärtsilä DP3 Rig Package

Wärtsilä to provide integrated power, propulsion and positioning system for DP3 offshore accommodation rig for Singapore's Axis Offshore. The contract with Cosco (Qidong) Offshore is for the vessel to be equipped with a DP3 dynamic positioning system, and will feature an integrated Wärtsilä solution that includes the main power generation system, the propulsion system, the electric and automation system and the automation safety system. Wärtsilä is responsible for engineering, delivery and commissioning of the integrated solution and will also support the yard on-site during the installation phase. The vessel is expected to enter into service in February 2015 for worldwide operations. Wärtsilä will begin deliveries of its equipment in May 2013.

Wärtsilä awarded a major contract to design a series of four multi-purpose platform support vessels (MPSVs) for Malaysian owner. The contract has been placed by Bumi Armada Berhad, a Malaysian-based international offshore oilfield services provider and also the largest owner and operator of offshore support vessels in Malaysia. Wärtsilä Powered FPSO Passes Load Tests

The new P-63 Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) is powered with Wärtsilä 50DF dual-fuel engines which passed load tests. This FPSO is the first such ship to utilize gas engines to produce more than 100 MWe of power. The tests were carried out at the Cosco shipyard in Dalian, China and the vessel will commence operations in Brazil’s offshore oil fields in 2013. Wärtsilä was contracted by the Brazilian industrial group QUIP, to provide a turnkey package for this vessel.

Wärtsilä Wins Brazil Liftboat Genset & Propulsion Orders

Wärtsilä’s success in Brazilian drill ship programme continues with latest genset and propulsion order for three new liftboats. This latest in a series of contracts won by Wärtsilä is to supply complete mechanical packages, comprising the generating sets and thrusters, for three new drill ships to be built by Brazilian shipyard ECOVIX. The vessels will be employed in Brazil’s pre-salt offshore oil fields. The three new drill ships will each be powered by six Wärtsilä 32 generating sets and will feature six Wärtsilä underwater de-mountable thrusters.

Wärtsilä Awarded Order for Six Brazilian Drill Ships

Wärtsilä, the marine industry's leading solutions and services provider, has been awarded the contract from Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine to supply main generating engines and thrusters for six new deep water drill ships to be built in Brazil at Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz. The contract was signed at the end of September. The Jurong Aracruz shipyard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore based Sembcorp Marine, will build the vessels for Sete Brasil, an investment company that manages asset portfolios in the oil and gas sector. The drill ships to be used in the pre-salt deep-water drilling program of the Brazilian energy giant, Petrobras, will be operated by drilling contractors Seadrill and Odfjell.

Wärtsilä Awarded Pacific Radiance Contract

Wärtsilä is to supply complete and fully integrated power generation and propulsion packages for three vessels being built for Pacific Radiance Ltd., the Singapore based company specialising in offshore service activities. In each case, the company’s main requirements were to achieve greater efficiency, better fuel consumption, and lower emission levels. The orders were received during the second quarter of 2012. Two 86 metre, Platform Supply Vessels (PSV) are to be built at the Huang Pu shipyard in China, while the Zhenjiang shipyard, also in China, will build a hybrid Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel with more than 210 Ton Bollard Pull (TBP).

Wärtsilä to Power New DSCV

Wärtsilä won the contract to supply an integrated solution for power generation, power distribution, and propulsion for a new Diving Support & Construction Vessel (DSCV) currently under construction in Singapore. The order has been placed by Keppel Singmarine, the Singapore based builder of the vessel. The contract includes the vessel's main power generation system, the Wärtsilä Low Loss Concept full electric and automation system, and a complete integrated propulsion system. The vessel will operate on marine diesel oil (MDO). Wärtsilä will deliver the systems during the beginning of 2012, and the ship is scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2013.

Wärtsilä Restructures Ship Power Unit

Wärtsilä's Ship Power is in the process of reorganizing into five Ship Power Business Segments: Merchant, Offshore, Cruise & Ferry, Navy, and Special Vessels. The aim is to respond better to market requirements, in terms of value proposition and technology development, as well as to be prepared for market fluctuations. In announcing the new business structure Jaakko Eskola, Group Vice President, Ship Power, stated: "We are experiencing an unparalleled upturn in our industry, and we are enjoying record order intake levels. However, it is important that we continue to seek ways to further increase our competitive edge on the market. The rollout of the new model started on July 1, 2007 and will be fully set up by the end of the year.
