MacGregor to Equip USCG Polar Security Cutter

Marine equipment supplier MacGregor said it has received an order from shipbuilder VT Halter Marine to supply deck machinery and cargo handling equipment to the U.S. Coast Guard Polar Security Cutter (PSC) program. The order is booked into Cargotec’s fourth quarter 2019 order intake, with delivery planned to take place in the third quarter of 2021.According to MacGregor, the Scope of supply comprises anchor windlass, mooring winches and capstans, main towing winch, offshore cranes, oceanographic winch, hanger overhead crane and cargo access equipment.

BIO-UV in Chinese BWTS Partnership

Fendercare Signs Global Supply Deal with HALO

Hai Cheung to Build SeaCure BWMS in China

Evoqua Water Technologies has initiated the second phase of its partnership with Chinese marine equipment supplier Hai Cheung Trading Co. Ltd. Marking another development to the partnership agreement between Evoqua Water Technologies and Chinese marine equipment supplier Hai Cheung Trading Co. Ltd. signed in February, and which initially covered the sale and supply of Evoqua’s SeaCURE System into the Chinese market, Hong-Kong based Hai Cheung will now manufacture and distribute the ballast water management solution under license in China.

Hai Cheung to Build Evoqua Seacure System Under License

Evoqua Water Technologies’ SeaCure ballast water management system (BWMS) continues to build momentum in the marine market. Today, the company expanded its global partnership network by joining forces with Hai Cheung, a leading marine equipment supplier to the Chinese market. Hai Cheung will initially support Chinese shipyards with the supply and service of Evoqua’s SeaCURE BWMS. In a second phase of the agreement, the Hong Kong-based engineering company will then produce the SeaCURE system under license to facilitate demand from Chinese yards.

Wärtsilä, CSSC Ink BWMS Manufacturing Deal

Wärtsilä has signed a manufacturing license agreement with Jiujiang Precision Measuring Technology Research Institute, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), based in Jiujiang, China. The two-way agreement provides CSSC with access to technology and the rights to manufacture the Wärtsilä Aquarius EC Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) under license for applications to CSSC customers. In return, Wärtsilä gains access to CSSC's new manufacturing facility, thereby further supporting supply and demand needs for the Wärtsilä BWMS direct to Wärtsilä customers. The agreement was signed in Jiujiang on 5th December 2016 and is implemented with immediate effect.

Year Zero for ECDIS Compliance

The right product for the right application is a familiar claim from marine equipment supplier Simrad, but, when compliance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) requirements is at stake, it is a call demanding an immediate response. Compliance with the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Convention on Electronic Chart Data and Information Systems (ECDIS) is now a matter of urgency. The mandatory phase-in for all internationally trading vessels to be fitted with an ECDIS using Electronic Navigation Charts (ENCs) reached a watershed on July 1, 2015.

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), the world’s biggest shipbuilder and a leading integrated heavy industries company, announced today it teams up with its shipbuilding affiliates, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI), to participate in KOMARINE 2015, a major maritime international exhibition from October 20 to 23 at Hall 3, Booth 3F05, BEXCO, Busan in South Korea. Ballast Water Treatment – The Evolution of the Technology Market

The development of systems for the onboard treatment of ballast water has been under way since the late 90’s. By water treatment process equipment standards, the market may no longer be embryonic, but it is still in its infancy. The initial offerings involved the obvious process migration from other high flow treatment applications in the industrial and municipal markets such as UV, electrochlorination, other chlorine compounds, and ozone. This was followed soon after with integrated process systems combining these and other techniques. Due to the unique operating environment onboard, other methods soon evolved that utilized process equipment from other ship applications such as inert gas and oxygen stripping systems.
