US Shipyard Contracted to Build Liftboat

Gulf Island Marine Fabricators to construct a 335-Class semi-submersible for Montco Offshore. Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc.subsidiary, Gulf Island Marine Fabricators, L.L.C. is to fabricate the 185 feet long by 135 feet wide by 15 feet deep, C-class offshore liftboat. When completed, this will be the second 335 Class liftboat the Company has built for LA-based Montco Offshore, Inc. Revenue and man-hour backlog related to this project will be included in the Company’s consolidated backlog when the Company announces its earnings results for the quarter ended September 30, 2012. Bollinger and Martin Midstream Sign Contract for Tank Barge

Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has signed a contract for the design and new construction of a 55,000 barrel (BBL) Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) compliant tank barge, with Martin Midstream Partners, LP. Contract terms and conditions were not disclosed. The announcement was made by Bollinger executive vice president of new construction, Chris Bollinger. The 55,000 BBL tank barge, M 6000, will be built at Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., in Amelia, Louisiana.

Bollinger Shipyards announces that Daniel “Danny” Richardel has been named Vice President-General Manager of Bollinger Marine Fabricators, Amelia, Louisiana. Ben Bordelon, Bollinger’s Chief Operating Officer made the announcement, stating, “Danny has been an integral component of Bollinger’s success in the many commercial and government programs we have completed over the years. His leadership and management skills will help guide the success of our Marine Fabricators facility for many years to come.

Bollinger Delivers 55K BBL Tank Barge

Lockport, La., Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the M 6000, a 55,000 barrel (bbl) Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) compliant tank barge, to Midstream Fuel Service, L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin Resource Management Corporation. Contract terms and conditions were not disclosed. The 55,000 bbl tank barge, M 6000, was built at Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., in Amelia, La. and is a Bollinger design. The M 6000 is a clean oil barge that is classed and certified ABS + A1 Oil Tank Barge, Manned Ocean Services.

Crowley Orders ATB at Bollinger

Crowley Fuels LLC has signed a contract with Bollinger Shipyards for the construction of a new 100,000-barrel-capacity articulated tug-barge (ATB) to transport multiple clean petroleum products in the Alaska market. The Alaska-class vessel will be built at Bollinger Marine Fabricators Shipyard, in Amelia, La., with an expected delivery in the fourth quarter of 2019. The build contract includes an option for a second ATB. Once built and deployed, Crowley will operate the ATB under a long-term charter with Alaska-based Petro Star Inc.…

Coastal Marine Delivers for Louisiana Floodgates

Coastal Marine Equipment delivered the winches, controls, hydraulic system, four roller fairleads and guide sheaves for the houma navigational canal and bayou grand caillou floodgate projects built by Bollinger Shipyards and Gulf Island Marine Fabricators. This system is responsible for the opening and closing of each floodgate to help protect Louisiana in a hurricane storm surge. BMF Delivers RTC 26 and RTC 27

Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., (BMF) Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the RTC 26 and RTC 27, double hull, oil tank barges built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90), to Reinauer Transportation Companies, L.L.C., Staten Island, N.Y. Following the delivery of the RTC 26 and RTC 27, Bollinger announced the signing of a sister ship, Bollinger hull number 543, scheduled for delivery in the 4th quarter of 2008. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

MarAd Approves Vessel Sale and Transfer

The Maritime Administration (MarAd) has approved a vessel sale and transfer under section 9 of the Shipping Act, of 1916, as amended. MarAd has given approval to Dewey Seymore & Associates, of Folsom, California, to sale the deck barge EM1005, to China Harbour - Costain Mexico S. de. R.L .de. C.V., Mexico and transfer of said Vessel to Mexican registry and flag. The deck barge was built by Bollinger Marine Fabricators and has a gross tonnage of 1072.

New Drydock for FMT Shipyard and Repair

Gulf Island Marine Fabricators has recently delivered a new drydock named the J.B. Barthelemy to FMT Shipyard and Repair. The new drydock, which is 180 feet long and 73 feet wide with 63-foot clearance between the wingwalls, seven-foot deep pontoon with 18-foot high wing walls, has a 2,400-short-ton capacity and will be located at FMT Shipyard and Repair yard on the Harvey Canal. The drydock has a 225 kilowatt genset provided by Kennedy Engine, eight eight-inch ABS submersible…

Bollinger Delivers for Bouchard

The Bollinger built 35,000 BBL tank barge B. Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C. delivered B. No. 231, the first of two double hull, 35,000 barrel (BBL) oil tank barge units built to meet OPA’90 requirements to Bouchard Coastwise Management. Morton S. Bouchard III, president and CEO of Bouchard Affiliates, said “The delivery of the B. No. 231 is another step forward for Bouchard, and our commitment to our customers to provide the highest quality equipment that meets their changing needs. The B. No. 231 is a manned, clean oil, oceans tank barge measuring 300-ft. long, with a 64-ft. beam and a depth of 21-ft.. The barge has ten cargo tanks, with Byron Jackson cargo pumps, driven by John Deere engines.

Bollinger Delivers 80,000 BBL Tank Barge

Lockport, La., Bollinger Gretna, L.L.C. of Harvey, La., a Bollinger shipyard, has delivered B. No. 284, a double hull 80,000 bbl oil tank barge built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) to Bouchard Ocean Services, Melville, N.Y. Barge B. No. 284 is a manned ocean, clean oil tank barge measuring 399-ft, 11-inches long, with a 74-ft beam and a depth of 28-ft, 6-inches. The barge is built to, and certified by, American Bureau of Shipping and United States Coast Guard to meet the requirements of OPA’90 with 12 cargo compartments and three separate pumping systems.

River Towboat Pair Order for Gulf Island Fab

Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc. (GIFI) informs that through its subsidiary Gulf Island Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., it has signed a contract for the fabrication of two 8,000 bhp twin screw diesel-engined river towboats. Revenue backlog and man-hours associated with this project will be reported in connection with the Company’s announcement of financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2014. GIFI adds that the contract includes an option (expires March 15, 2015) for a third 8,000 bhp towboat that would be included in backlog upon exercise of the option, should the customer elect to do so.

No. 262, a double hull 60,000 BBL oil tank barge built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90) to Bouchard Ocean Services, Inc., Melville, NY. Barge B. No. 262 is a manned ocean, clean oil tank barge measuring 350 ft long, with a 70 ft beam and a depth of 25 ft. The barge is built to, and certified by American Bureau of Shipping and United States Coast Guard to meet the requirements of OPA’90 with ten cargo compartments and two separate pumping systems.

EBDG New Orleans Innovates OSV Design with New EB-210 CC

Elliott Bay Design Group's (EBDG) New Orleans office partnered with Gulf Island Marine Fabricators, LLC. on the class design and production engineering for the EB-210CC OSV (Offshore Support Vessel). The scope of this new design project included detail design, structural, mechanical, piping and outfitting design as well as 3-D assembly drawings of the vessel structure utilizing ShipConstructor software. In addition, EBDG is the primary point of contact for all regulatory body requests for information.

Cape Horn Delivered into Service

Elliott Bay Design Group (EBDG), a naval architecture and marine engineering firm with offices in Seattle and Ketchikan, announced the delivery into service of the Cape Horn, a Specialty Oilfield Vessel. EBDG partnered with Gulf of Mexico Operator SeaMar, LLC and Gulf Island Marine Fabricators on the class design and production engineering for the ship. "We would like to congratulate our valued client, Darrel Plaisance of SeaMar, LLC on the delivery of their EB-220CC and the shipyard on a fine build," stated Gulf Coast General Manager, Keith Keller.

Bollinger Delivers Tank Barge to Hornbeck

Bollinger Marine Fabricators has delivered the Energy 6508, double hull, oil tank barge built to meet the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA’90), to Hornbeck Offshore Transportation. The delivery of the Energy 6508 was preceded by the delivery of the Energy 6506 and Energy 6507 earlier in 2007. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.The 60,000 BBL capacity Energy 6508 measures 362 x 60 x 29 ft. The series of barges are OPA’90 compliant, classed by ABS to the requirements of the Maltese Cross A1, unmanned oceans, and manned special service.

Bollinger Delivers Barge to Progressive

Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., (BMF) Amelia, La., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered to Progressive Barge Line, Inc., Westwego, La., its first new leading edge double hull OPA’90 Lakes, Bays and Sounds tank barge. Barge PBL 3002 measures 297.6-feet in length, 54.0-foot beam and 13.0-foot depth, with a rated capacity of 28,300 barrels (BBL). Elliot Bay Design Group performed the design and engineering package in support of Bollinger. PBL 3002 departed the Bollinger Amelia facility on October 31st and towed directly to the Progressive Westwego terminal to commence bunkering services on the Mississippi River, throughout the port of New Orleans and the Intracoastal Canal Waterway.

Bollinger Delivers Ocean Sun to Crowley

The third of four Ocean Class Tugs has been delivered to Crowley from Bollinger Marine Fabricators. The Ocean Sun is DP 2, measures 156 feet in length and is rated at 10,880 HP. The vessel is outfitted for long-range, high-capacity ocean towing, rig moves, platform and floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit tows, emergency response and firefighting. Sister ship Ocean Sky is preparing for sea-trials, and a summer 2013 delivery. Bollinger delivered the Ocean Class DP 1 designed Ocean Wave and Ocean Wind  4Q 2012.

Bollinger Shipyards have delivered the DP 2 classed 'Ocean Sky', the fourth of four Ocean-class tugs for Crowley Maritime Corporation. The first two Ocean Class vessels, the Ocean Wave and Ocean Wind, classed as DP1, were delivered in Q4 2012. Ocean Sky, sister vessel to the Ocean Sun, was delivered in May 2013. Work in progress at one of Bollinger’s OPA’90 barge building facilities continues on schedule, as the backlog increases with the signing of two 60,000 and one 80,000 BBL offshore units for Bouchard. Bollinger Gretna, L.L.C., and Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., two Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. facilities, have signed contracts for new construction of three OPA’90 compliant tank barges, consisting of one (1) 80,000, and two (2) 60,000 barrel (BBL) units for Bouchard Ocean Services, L.L.C., Melville, N.Y.
