Viking Supply Ships Takes Delivery of Andreas Viking AHTS

Swedish offshore vessel owner Viking Supply Ships has taken delivery of the Andreas Viking AHTS, previously known as the Far Senator.In March 2023, Viking Supply Ships said it would take two Ocean Yield-owned AHTS vessels, Far Senator and Normand Statesman, on bareboat charters for a period of five years, with purchase options during the charter period, and an obligation to purchase the vessels at the end of the charter period if requested by Ocean Yield AS. Unique Group to Provide Survey Vessel Package to Major Government Entity

Subsea and offshore solution provider Unique Group announced that its Marine & Subsea division has entered into a high value contract with the Southern African Shipyards to provide a turnkey package for hydrographic survey vessels and hydrographic office set up.The project will include multiple new build vessels - main vessel and support vessels. Unique Group will act as a technology partner to the shipyard and provide the vessel’s dynamic positioning systems and Navigational equipment package.

Wintershall Awards Frame Deal to DOF Subsea

Norwegean-based  international subsea operating company DOF Subsea said in a press release that  it has been awarded frame agreement for marine subsea services from Wintershall."The Atlantic region has been awarded a Frame Agreement for marine subsea services from Wintershall. Forum to Provide Offshore Trenching System to Global Marine

Forum Energy Technologies contracts with Global Marine Systems to supply a PerryTM XT 600 Trenching System. The XT 600 Trenching System is scheduled for delivery in 2013. It will be installed in the Global Marine vessel the Cable Retriever, based in the Philippines, and will replace the T205 trencher that was previously supplied by Forum/Perry in 2000. The XT 600 Trenching System will be used to support Global Marine's subsea cable maintenance contracts in South East Asia and the Indian Ocean. The trenching system is to come complete with Launch & Recovery System and special tooling. The trencher provides three meter ROV burial capability on the ocean floor.

Swiber Holdings Report Profit Surge

Singapore-based offshore energy group Swiber Holdings issues its Q2 & HY 2012 financial report. Swiber Holdings provide offshore construction, offshore marine, subsea & offshore development services. 2Q 2012 highlights: Net Profit surges 66.0% to US$20.9 million Revenue rises 27.1% to US$229.6 million HY 2012 highlights:  Net Profit rose 36.9% to US$33.5 million Revenue increases 28.0% to US$424.0 million Record order book of approximately US$1.6 billion, expected to contribute to Group’s results over the next two years Swiber considers that its strengthened capabilities places them in the big league, well placed for large contract wins.

ULSTEIN Sells To Island Offshore

Ulstein sells Karianne to Island Offshore

Ulstein Verft has sold the construction vessel Karianne of SX121 type design to Island Offshore. The vessel was completed on time from ULSTEIN in the fourth quarter of 2010. The vessel was originally contracted by the shipping company Marine Subsea, which could not to take delivery of her after completion. CEO Gunvor Ulstein says she is very pleased that this advanced construction vessel will be in the hands of an experienced and established shipping company. - More and more oil installations are now seabed facilities, and we’re seeing an increasing demand for subsea and construction vessels.

OIS Expands U.S. Gulf & Mexico Services

Offshore Inland Marine, Industrial, Oilfield Services (OIS) has expanded their U.S. Gulf and Mexico Services with two new facilities. OIS has opened a new deepwater repair and fabrication facility in Pensacola, Fla., positioned as a Marine, Subsea, and Drilling Support Base. OIS is now operating out of a full service, deepwater support base in Dos Bocas, Mexico which adds to their office in Del Carmen, Mexico. OIS has been very active with subsea and marine fabrication and offshore projects.

Bisso Marine Subsea Basket Lift

Bisso Marine lifted two sections of a subsea basket weighing 275 tons each. The company used the D/B Cappy Bisso to lift the two sections of the subsea basket onto a materials barge for delivery offshore. The derrick barge had to hold one of the 275-ton sections in place while the two pieces were welded together.

Oil Majors to Invest $1B in GOM Oil Containment System

Today four oil majors – Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil and Shell – announced a plan to build and deploy a rapid response system that will be available to capture and contain oil in the event of a potential future underwater well blowout in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Significantly, the companies have already committed $1 billion to fund the initial costs of the system, and the four will form a non-profit organization, the Marine Well Containment Company, to operate and maintain this system. Other companies will be invited and encouraged to participate in this organization.

Hallin Wins $25m ROV Contract

Hallin Marine Subsea International Ltd, a Superior Energy Services company, has won a $25 million, five-year contract to supply ROV services from Marine Subsea AS for the new build subsea intervention vessel Karianne. Under the terms of the contract, Hallin will supply two new Quantum XP 200hp work class ROVs and handling systems and the teams of operators and technicians to deploy and operate the vehicles. Hallin has ordered the ROVs from UK manufacturer SMD and the vehicles will use bespoke handling systems and hangers that will be built into the 120 metre, state of the art vessel. The 3,000 m rated, work class ROVs will give the Karianne great flexibility in its primary role as a subsea well intervention and construction support vessel in the deepwater regions across the globe.

RBG Enhanced Service Offering

RBG Limited, provider of fabric maintenance and construction support to the global energy industry, launched a new range of products and services enhancing the company’s marine and subsea capability. RBG’s new, diver friendly hydraulic lightweight flange pulling tool is used to aid the safe and efficient assembly of flanged connections prior to the application of bolts. The compact device is operated either by a hand pump or remotely powered hydraulic unit and can pull flanges from distances up to of 600mm, with an applied force of 20 tonnes. To complement the new flange tooling, the company also launched its upgraded Flange Management Software. The system advises on the correct bolt torque and tension values by recording flange behavior, modifications and long-term activity.

Ulstein OCV Vessel Delivered

Yard number 283 Sarah, type Ulstein SX121 Offshore Construction Vessel, was delivered to Marine Subsea on December 16. The vessel has been designed and constructed by Ulstein Group. The Ulstein SX121 offshore construction vessel features the characteristic Ulstein X-Bow, enabling her to operate under all weather conditions while remaining steady and comfortable for the crew. Equipped for 100 persons, the vessel is 393.7 ft long and 82 ft wide. She has a tower, moonpool, ROV hangar, crane and helideck. This is oil service company Marine Subsea’s first vessel from the Ulstein Group.

Superior Energy Acquires Hallin Marine Subsea

Superior Energy Services, Inc. announced that it has entered into an Implementation Agreement with Hallin Marine Subsea International Plc (AIM: HMS), to acquire Hallin for a price of 233 pence in cash per Hallin share. The offer values Hallin's existing issued and to be issued fully diluted ordinary share capital at approximately 103.5 million pounds sterling (approximately $168.3m based upon an exchange rate of $1.626, at the close of business on December 10, 2009). Hallin is an international provider of integrated subsea services and engineering solutions, focused on installing, maintaining and extending subsea wells. Ulstein Builds for Marine Subsea

Marine Subsea Inc. signed a contract with Ulstein Verft for building an offshore construction vessel specialized in inspection, maintenance and repair operations (IMR/OCV) of the ULSTEIN SX121 design from Ulstein Design. The value of the contract is about $154.6m. The ship will be delivered in 2010 and is the fourth vessel of the type ULSTEIN SX121 from Ulstein Design. The vessel will be yard number 287 at Ulstein Verft. Marine Subsea Inc. has previously contracted a similar vessel from Ulstein Verft for delivery in July 2009. ”We have great faith in the Ulstein Group and are very satisfied working with Ulstein so far. In a pressured market with many delays in both equipment and deliveries, it is important to have a good dialog with the shipyard.
