Tarmac, Forth Ports Team-up for Tilbury2

British building materials company Tarmac has partnered with London’s fastest growing port, the Port of Tilbury, to create the UK’s largest construction materials aggregates terminal at Tilbury2, the new port being constructed on the north bank of the River Thames.The work will see the creation of new aggregate processing and manufacturing facilities, including an asphalt and ready mix concrete plant, at the new port terminal, supported by the terminal’s deep sea capacity for vessels up to 100,000 metric tonnes. Its riverside location will enable the easy import of raw materials and facilitate the use of the River Thames as a delivery route for processed construction materials into Central London.Martin Riley…

Escort Tug Launched for Bay-Houston Towing

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. announced the launch of the Escort Tug H. DOUGLAS M (Hull 236) for Bay-Houston Towing Company on November 17, 2015. This series of Robert Allan, LTD. (RAL) designed Z-Tech 2400 Class Terminal & Escort Tugs is currently under construction at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility. The H. DOUGLAS M is scheduled to deliver in early 2016. The launch ceremony was held at Eastern’s Nelson Street facility and hosted by Joey D’Isernia, President of Eastern, with employees and guests in attendance. Mr. D’Isernia praised all the hard work by the employees and Father Roy Marien of St. John’s Catholic Church of Panama City, FL. blessed the vessel. Joey’s daughter, Blair, had the honor of christening the vessel.

Atkins Gain Maersk Oil Engineering Contract

Design, engineering and project management consultancy Atkins, says it has been awarded an engineering support contract covering three of Maersk Oil’s UK assets in the North Sea. The Gryphon FPSO, Global Producer III FPSO and Janice FPU are planned for major offshore inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) works this year, in addition to field expansion works. Maersk has committed to this plan by contracting a dedicated Dive Support Vessel (DSV) for 365 days. In order to ensure this is completed safely and on time…
