De Nora Completes Hyde Marine Acquisition

De Nora announced it has completed its acquisition of Calgon Carbon Corporation's UV Technologies Division (CCUV), including the products, brands and assets of UV ballast water management systems (BWMS) manufacturer Hyde Marine as well as municipal and industrial water treatment brands RAYOX, SENTINEL and C3 SERIES UV.The acquisition – first announced last month – creates one of the world's largest ballast water management system (BWMS) manufacturers. De Nora said it has acquired Calgon Carbon Corporation's UV Technologies Division (CCUV), including the products, brands and assets of UV ballast water management systems (BWMS) manufacturer Hyde Marine as well as municipal and industrial water treatment brands RAYOX, SENTINEL and C3 SERIES UV.The acquisition was signed on June 7 and is expected to close on July 1, De Nora said.By combining De Nora BALPURE electrolytic disinfection (EC) BWMS and the Hyde Marine ultra-violet (UV) Hyde GUARDIAN BWMS, De Nora will offer both UV and EC BWMS over a full range of flows.

SeaCURE BWTS Completes USCG Type Approval Tests

SeaCURE Ballast Water Management System (BWMS), the electrochlorination based solution from Evoqua Water Technologies, has completed all biological efficacy U.S. Coast Guard Type-Approval tests. Evoqua Revamps SeaCURE BWM System

Using the same approved electrochlorination technology, Evoqua Water Technologies has remodeled its SeaCURE ballast water management system to provide optimum high flow rate performance from what is now one of the smallest electrochlorination system on the market. Introduced during the Nor-Shipping 2017 exhibition and conference, in Lillestrøme, Norway, the next generation SeaCURE System is a skid-mounted, plug-in-and-play ballast water treatment system that is 76 percent smaller and 85 percent lighter than earlier generations of the system.

IBAIZABAL TANKERS Opts for SeaCURE BWTS

Spanish IBAIZABAL TANKERS has purchased two SeaCURE ballast water management systems (BWMS) from Evoqua Water Technologies to help ensure compliance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) ballast water regulations coming into force in 2017. The systems will be installed on two IBAIZABAL TANKERS Suezmax vessels – the Montestena and the Montesperanza – with preparation work due to be completed at the end of October 2016. The project will see Evoqua provide the full suite of its offerings to IBAIZABAL, including design capability, equipment and maintenance services.

Hyde Marine Adds New Technical Director

Hyde Marine, Inc. announced the appointment of Matt Granitto as Technical Director. Granitto will be responsible for engineering and production as well as product management of Hyde’s fast growing marine environmental business unit. Granitto also serves as Technical Director of Hyde Marine’s joint venture company, Lamor LLC, a member of the worldwide Lamor Group. Lamor is a leading supplier of oil spill response and environmental equipment.
