Shipbuilding group Austal announced its Austal Vietnam arm has delivered the new catamaran ferry Maria Galanta Express to Oceanoi Limited of Mauritius. Australian-based global ship building company Austal Limited announced that it has been awarded a A$15.5 million (US$10.7 million) contract for a 41 meter, high-speed catamaran.According to a press release, the vessel will provide production continuity to Austal Vietnam as it completes the fabrication of a 94 meter ferry for a customer in Trinidad and Tobago. Moroni will be reached in 33 days from Fos, 36 days from Le Havre and 39 days from Antwerp.

CMA CGM announced that a new call at Pointe des Galets (La Reunion) will be introduced on its ASAF service, connecting Asia to West Africa, and operated with 13 vessels of 9,400 TEU. The maiden voyage direct to La Reunion will be operated with m/v CMA CGM TANYA in Xingang on March 22nd, 2016. La Reunion will be reached in 20 days from Shanghai, 16 days from Nansha and 9 days from Southeast Asia. Thru the strategic hub of La Reunion on ASAF service, CMA CGM will offer a fortnightly fixed-day service to Mayotte. Longoni will be reached from Shanghai in 30 days. Stability and service continuity will benefit customers in Comoros and North Madagascar and will permit to further develop the Reefer product.

DP World Asian Terminals Inc. has placed an order with Liebherr Container Cranes for a further five RTGs at its Manila facility following an order of two units that were commissioned earlier in 2014 at the port. The RTGs feature numerous environmental, safety and productivity technologies, Liebherr said.
