In 2011, Bouchard Transportation Co. establishes the Morton S. Bouchard Jr. Memorial Scholarship fund, which is designed to recognize deserving cadets who demonstrate the achievement and leadership ability to successfully pursue a career in the petroleum barge industry. The scholarship has since been formed at SUNY Maritime College, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and Texas A&M University at Galveston.

Four U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) cadets were awarded with 2017 Thomas B. Crowley Memorial Scholarships during yesterday’s Containerization and Intermodal Institute’s Connie Awards luncheon in Newark, N.J. Webb Institute Senior Awarded Crowley Scholarship

Crowley Maritime Corp. has awarded a Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarship to Tyler Gray-Hoehn, class of 2018 at the Webb Institute, a highly-selective undergraduate institution in Glen Cove, N.Y., specializing in naval architecture and marine engineering. Gray-Hoehn, who hails from Brookfield, Wisc., was recognized for his dedication, academic excellence and leadership as a student Webb. He is senior class president and vice president of the Webb Institute’s Student Organization (SO), and has also been Webb’s Motor Boat Chair, Van Chair and a member of the Honor Council.

Loutit Awarded Robert Allan Memorial Scholarship

The trustees of the Robert Allan Memorial Scholarship Trust have awarded the scholarship for 2017 to Taryn Loutit. Loutit is a fourth year mechanical engineering student at the University of Victoria with a passion for and an objective to pursue a career in naval architecture and marine engineering. She has an outstanding academic record and has completed five co-op work terms with marine-related businesses. The Robert Allan Memorial Scholarship Trust was initiated in 1982 from a bequest by the late Robert F. Allan, and with support from his many industry friends and colleagues.

Four cadets at State University of New York (SUNY) Maritime College have been awarded Thomas B. Crowley Memorial Scholarships to help further their educational opportunities, Crowley Maritime Corp. announced. Recipients Jacob Ennerfelt, John Szczecinski, Gabrielle McCracken and Kent Napoliello, who will each sail with Crowley this summer, were chosen based on their demonstrated leadership skills, financial need and plans to pursue a career in the marine engineering or shipping industries after graduation.

Hannah Wistort, Webb Institute class of 2017, is the 2016-2017 recipient of Crowley Maritime Corporation’s Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarship. Webb’s scholarship selection committee chose Wistort for her academic excellence and leadership skills. Wistort, who is from Niskayuna, N.Y., has been involved with many student organizations and community projects. She is a member of the Webb Leadership Committee, which organizes community service and outreach projects for students.

Crowley Maritime Corporation’s 2016 Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships are helping to further educational opportunities for three students of Texas A&M University, all of whom are enrolled in the college’s License Option program and have expressed an interest in pursuing a career in the towing or petroleum shipping industry after graduation. The three recipients, each of whom have either sailed with Crowley or are scheduled to do so, were chosen based on their demonstrated leadership skills and financial need.

Four Williams-Mystic Maritime Studies Program students have been awarded scholarships by Crowley Maritime Corporation. Claire Fahrner, Vitya Romanov, Rachel Earnhardt and Jessica Menges were each chosen as a result of their academic excellence, morale and community involvement. The students also exhibited strong leadership qualities and were articulate spokespeople for maritime education, according to Sarah A. Jordan, Williams-Mystic's director of alumni and development. Farner is a senior at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts focusing on environmental studies.

Crowley Maritime Corp.’s 2015-2016 Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships have helped to further educational opportunities for four students of Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA). The four recipients, Bryan P. Wall, Robert M. Neal, Peter Persechino and Adam Szloch, were chosen based on their excellent grades, demonstrated financial need and plans to pursue a career in the maritime industry, Crowley said. Wall is a freshman from Manasquan, N.J., majoring in marine transportation.

Crowley, Jr., CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Crowley Maritime (Oakland, CA), with an Honorary Doctorate of Commercial Science degree at Webb Institute’s 119th commencement on Saturday, June 20th. Crowley Gives Scholarships to Two Student Employees

Crowley Maritime Corporation recently awarded Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships to two University of North Florida (UNF) students who are also currently part-time employees with the company. UNF seniors Olivia Musselwhite and Matthew Petrone each received $2,500 towards their continued education. Leonora Bojko-Sosa and Kathy Lonetto, human resources representatives for Crowley, recognized the two at an annual reception on November 7 at the University Center on the UNF campus in Jacksonville.

Crowley Maritime Corporation recently presented U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Midshipman Kevin Berto with the Maritime Security Enhancement Award during the Academy’s award convocation. Berto received the award, which was established by Crowley in 2003, in recognition of his strong interest in a port, maritime or transportation security career and high grade point average both in class and at sea as a cadet. Berto is a logistics and intermodal transportation major from Lake Forrest, Ill.

Crowley, Sr., Memorial Scholarships to University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) students Alexandra Bateman, Gabrielle Bragg, Diloola Erickson and Kimberly Greenway.
