Inmarsat Maritime Safety Team Wins IMRF Award

IMRF Gains Formal Legal Status in China

The International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) has successfully registered its Asia Pacific regional centre (APRC) in China, giving it formal legal status and providing a timely boost to maritime Search and Rescue (SAR) development in the region. Registration means that the IMRF, which has operated an office in Shanghai since 2011, can advance its activities without the limitations of Chinese law places on non-registered organizations. International Lifesaving Agreement to Help Prevent Drowning

Worldwide, drowning is claiming and affecting millions of lives every year. To help combat this problem the International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) and the International Lifesaving Federation (ILS) have agreed and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). IMRF Draws Safety Conclusions From HK Meeting

The International Maritime Rescue Federation's (IMRF) Asia Pacific Regional meeting in Hong Kong summed up that improving search and rescue (SAR) communications infrastructure, advancing an integrated regional radio network and developing common SAR systems and procedures between SAR organisations in the Asia Pacific area would help save more lives in the waters of the region. IMRF Agrees to Action Plan with 17 SARS

The International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) – the international charity representing the world’s maritime search and rescue organizations – has held its first Asia Pacific Regional meeting and agreed on an action plan with the 17 Search and Rescue (SAR) organizations attending. Organized by the IMRF’s Asia-Pacific Regional Center (APRC), which was officially launched last September, the event was supported by China Rescue and Salvage (CRS) and, included more than 40 delegates from Korea, Thailand, Singapore, DPR Korea, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. New Lifeboat Handed Over to RNLI for Jubilee Year Pageant

Babcock has handed over the latest Tamar Class lifeboat to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). This lifeboat will represent the charity during the Diamond Jubilee Pageant on the River Thames in June to mark Her Majesty The Queen’s special year. The RNLI Engineering and Supply Director David Brook and Operations Director Michael Vlasto attended the handover ceremony at Babcock’s Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth today.
