SeaMar Group Nets Long-Term Charter with MMT in U.S. Offshore Wind Space

Swedish marine survey company MMT has awarded a long-term contract for SeaMar Group's Deep Helder offshore support vessel.To contract comes following the recent six-month deal previously awarded for the vessel for work on the east coast of the U.S.The contract extension has a duration of two years firm, plus 1-year option. Work is expected to start in direct continuation of the vessel’s previously agreed scope. Since May 2020 MMT has been operating the Deep Helder on the US Coast on a variety of marine survey activities for the Ørsted South Fork and Revolution Wind farms.Leo Balkema…

New Sonar Allows Hydrographic Surveying at Speed

Sweden's MMT Group has purchased a new Kongsberg EM2040-04 dual TX high resolution multibeam system which has been installed on their survey vessel 'MV Seabeam'. The new EM 2040-04 dual TX model, which consist of two TX-Transmitters and two RX-Receivers is designed for mapping in shallow areas at higher speed and will deliver high resolution, accurate survey data and great range performance (both depth and swath width) at the highest resolution available in the market, claims Kongsberg.

Kongsberg EM2040 dual head at MMT Group

MMT Group announce acquisition of a new Kongsberg EM2040D. The EM2040 dual head system has recently been installed on MMT’s survey and ROV vessel IceBeam. This is the first highly developed multibeam echo sounder to combine all of the advanced features of deepwater echo sounders to the near-bottom sounding environment.
