Iran and Syria have signed an agreement on mutual maritime cooperation during  the sixth round of joint maritime committee meeting on the maritime and port cooperation.The Managing Director of Iran's Maritime and Port Organization (PMO) Mohammad Rastad, and the Syrian Deputy Minister of Maritime Transportation Mohammad Ammar Kamal Al-Din, signed the agreement.The agreement has emphasized the expansion of maritime cooperation, as well as maritime education and training together with increasing maritime transportation through the shipping lines of both countries.The memorandum also emphasized the increase in maritime transport through the shipping lines of the two countries…

Iran's Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Rastad is in talks with Vietnamese officials with the aim of improving trade and connectivity capacities between the two countries.According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the managing director of the Ports and Maritime Organization met Vietnamese national shipping authorities during a visit to Vietnam and discussed the trade and communications capacities of the two countries. The body of one crew member has been found aboard an Iranian oil tanker that is still ablaze after colliding with a grain ship off China's east coast, an Iranian official said on Monday.   Mohammad Rastad, head of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organisation, was quoted as saying by ISNA news agency that the body was sent to Shanghai for identification.   Rescue crews are trying to bring the blaze under control and find the 32 missing crew.   Reporting by Bozorgmehr Sharafedin

Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has received authorisation as a Recognised Organisation from Iran’s maritime administration – Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO). Strengthening its presence further in the Middle East, IRClass has also set up an office in Tehran to offer its services to the Iranian maritime sector. This move is the latest in a series of steps taken by IRClass to enhance its global footprint.
