StormGeo Launches Navigator Solutions Portfolio

StormGeo launched the Navigator Solutions Portfolio, which is designed to be an integrated, navigational and route optimization platform connecting onboard solutions to shore-based decision support. The move melds with StormGeo's recent acquisition of Nautisk, a supplier of digital maritime charts and publications to the merchant marine. The new Navigator Solutions Portfolio consists of the combination of onboard, onshore and weather routing services. StormGeo Acquires Nautisk

Weather intelligence and decision support services provider StormGeo has entered into an agreement to acquire Nautisk, a global supplier of maritime charts and publications to the merchant marine from NHST Media Group. The combination allows StormGeo to integrate routing and weather services with its charts and publications solutions.According to Per-Olof Schroeder, CEO of StormGeo, “The acquisition of Nautisk is a natural complement to our existing solutions to the global shipping industry. Digital Navigation: Nautisk and Kongsberg Partner

Norwegian digital navigation specialists Nautisk have announced a partnership that will make its products available via Kongsberg Digital’s Kognifai platform.Kongsberg Digital, part of the Norwegian Kongsberg Group of companies, will offer Nautisk’s range of digital navigation and bridge management products to members of its existing Kognifai community as part of its end-to-end digital service.Kongsberg Digital provides software and digital solutions to the maritime, oil and gas, renewables and utilities markets through Kognifai, its digital network platform.

Nautisk Names Martinsen Commercial Director

More Port Data Added to NaviPlanner

Nautisk’s NaviPlanner, a voyage planning solution which utilizes touch-screen functionality and cloud technology based on the Microsoft Azure platform, is set to be enhanced with the inclusion of more comprehensive port data following a new partnership with Shipping Guides Ltd. The integration of port information from Shipping Guides’ online service FindaportAPI will enable users to benefit from improved ports and port operations data. Nautisk, MarineMTS to Provide ENC Auto-Updates

Global maritime software solutions provider Nautisk has announced that it is working with MarineMTS to provide automatic ENC updates to vessels sailing with ECDIS. Marine MTS will provide both the hardware and the protocols needed to access the ECDIS with Nautisk providing the content and software. The new system will be available for the customer’s own ECDIS system and will harmonize with NaviPlanner, Nautisk’s new voyage planning software which will launch later this month at Norshipping. “Our products and services are truly unique, based on a solid foundation of testing and development. Nautisk Appoints Sub-distributor in Spain

Global chart distributor Nautisk has appointed SEAMAPS ES as a sub-distributor, serving Algeciras and the surrounding areas.   The Spanish chandler will service local customers with core navigational products and services direct from Nautisk including Admiralty charts and publications in both paper and digital format.   SEAMAPS will also offer a number of solutions developed by Nautisk for the maritime market including POD (Print on Demand), Nautisk’s vessel information service  - Neptune, and the newly launched digital publications library, NaviTab.

Nautisk Bolsters Management Team in Asia

Global chart distributor Nautisk said it is strengthening its presence across one of its core global locations with the appointment of two new managers in Asia. Alan Leung will take up the role of Regional Sales Manager in Hong Kong to help with Nautisk’s business expansion in the region, with particular focus on Hong Kong, the company said. Over the next 12-18 months, Leung will be tasked with growing Nautisk’s business in Asia and driving sales activities, while managing key accounts and dealing directly with customers.

Nautisk Launches NaviTab

Nautisk unveiled its latest navigational solution: NaviTab from Nautisk, a unique concept that replaces a vessel’s onboard Navigational Publication library. Hundreds of books have been uploaded onto a hi-spec hand-held device, suitable for use both onshore and on the bridge. “Currently, all vessels sailing global routes must carry a full portfolio of navigational publications (NPs) in order to sail compliantly and meet SOLAS Regulation,” said Nautisk CEO Thomas Fjeld. “These NPs include a number of IMO Publications, Sailing Directions, Pilot Guides, Radio Signals and list of lights.

Nautisk Opens Aberdeen Office

DNV Approves "Pay as You Sail" Charts Option

Global chart distributor Nautisk has confirmed DNV approval for its Neptune Pay As You Sail (PAYS) Solution. PAYS enables users to access global ENCs for use with onboard ECDIS systems, while only paying for those that are actually used. Peter J Pran, Nautisk Project Manager said, “Despite a positive market outlook, demands on shipowners and vessel operators to make cost savings and optimize operational efficiency are continuing to increase. “Our PAYS solution gives both shore-based and onboard teams access to any number of ENCs that may be required for one particular trading route.
