Sea Containers Ltd. passenger and freight transport operator, marine container lessor and leisure industry investor, today announced its results for the quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2002. For the quarter, net income was $17.9 million ($0.84 per common share diluted) on revenue of $547 million, compared with net income of $6.6 million ($0.35 per common share diluted) on revenue of $356 million in the year earlier period. Net income was up 173 percent, diluted net earnings per common share were up 140% and revenue was up 54 percent. Atwood Oceanics Announce Q1 2012 Financial Report

Atwood Oceanics Inc. has announced  that the Company earned net income of $59.5 million or $0.90 per diluted share, on revenues of $171.6 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 compared to net income of $65.5 million or $1.00 per diluted share on revenues of $184.7 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2011 and compared to net income of $70.6 million or $1.08 per diluted share, on revenues of $159.1 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. For the six months ended March 31, 2012, the Company earned net income of $124.9 million or $1.90 per diluted share, on revenues of $356.3 million compared to net income of $123.5 million or $1.89 per diluted share, on revenues of $305.4 million for the six months ended March 31, 2011.

Earnings Down for Most Oil Companies

Many oil companies reported a decrease in net income for the second quarter, compared to the previous year's results, although - in most cases - the second quarter still outperformed the first. While the decreases ranged in percentage, only a few companies' results were virtually unchanged from the previous year's performance. Teekay Reports 2Q Results

Teekay Shipping Corporation reported net income of $20.4m, or $0.27 per share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, compared to net income of $104.6m, or $1.23 per share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. The results for the quarters ended June 30, 2006 and 2005 included a number of specific items that had the net effect of decreasing net income by $29.4m, or $0.39 per share, in the second quarter of 2006, and increasing net income by $12.7m, or $0.15 per share, in the second quarter of 2005. Net voyage revenues for the second quarter of 2006 were $311.2m, compared to $381.8m for the same period in 2005, and income from vessel operations decreased to $68.9m from $131.5m, which included $15.9m in gains on vessel sales.

Horizon Offshore Reports 2001 Earnings

Horizon Offshore, Inc reported net income for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2001, of $10.7 million. This compares with a net income of $6.4 million diluted in 2000. Before recording an extraordinary charge of $0.6 million net of taxes, net income for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2001 was $11.3 million, or $0.49 per share diluted. For the three months ended December 31, 2001, Horizon reported net income of $0.4 million, or $0.02 per share diluted, on revenues of $73.8 million, compared with a net income of $1.4 million, or $0.07 per share diluted, on revenues of $51.8 million for the fourth quarter 2000. For the fiscal year ending December 31, 2001, gross profit was $35.0 million, or 12.9 percent on contract revenues.

GlobalSantaFe Reports 4Q and Full Year Results

Houston-based worldwide drilling contractor GlobalSantaFe Corporation reported net income for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2001, of $11.7 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, on revenues of $384 million, as compared to net income of $40.9 million, or $0.34 per diluted share, on revenues of $332 million for the same quarter in 2000. Carnival's Shares Plummet 40 Percent

Carnival Corporation reported net income of $116.3 million ($0.20 Diluted EPS) on revenues of $959.1 million for its fourth quarter ended November 30, 2001, compared to net income of $193.8 million ($0.33 Diluted EPS) on revenues of $850.3 million for the same quarter in 2000. Net income for the year ended November 30, 2001, was $926.2 million ($1.58 Diluted EPS) on revenues of $4.54 billion, compared to net income of $965.5 million ($1.60 Diluted EPS) on revenues of $3.78 billion for the same period in 2000. Fourth quarter 2001 net income was reduced by $33 million, comprised of an impairment charge of $39 million, primarily related to a write-down in the carrying value of two ships, net of a Costa tax benefit of $6 million. Fourth quarter 2000 included a Costa tax benefit of $27 million.

Chevron Reports 1998 Net Income of $1.98 Billion

Chevron Corporation reported 1998 preliminary net income of $1.98 billion, down 39 percent from 1997 net income of $3.3 billion. Net income for 1998 and 1997 included net benefits of $31 million and $76 million, respectively, from special items. For the fourth quarter 1998, net income of $431 million included net charges of $72 million from special items. Charges associated with asset write-downs; reserves for environmental remediation and a litigation issue; and last-in, first-out (LIFO) inventory adjustments were partially offset by favorable prior-year tax adjustments and a gain from an asset sale. Fourth quarter 1997 net income included net benefits from special items totaling $68 million.

Teekay Reports 1Q Results

Teekay Corporation reported net income of $15.2m, or $0.21 per share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, compared to net income of $76.4 million, or $1.02 per share, for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. Net loss for the latest quarter was $1.5 million, on net operating revenue of $149.4 million, compared with net income of $9.6 million, on net operating revenue of $223.9 million for the same period last year.
