G2 Ocean Names Wallem

Wallem Ship Agency has been appointed by G2 Ocean to provide Ship Agency services to all their vessels calling in ports in SE Asia. The agreement has been made with Wallem Ship Agency in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and Myanmar. This news comes after Wallem was appointed by G2 Ocean back in July of 2017 for calls to China, totaling an estimated number of 700 calls per year. Managing Director of Wallem Ship Agency Dickson Chin says, “We are delighted to extend our relationship with G2 Ocean to handle their vessels calling throughout Southeast Asia.

New appointments at IMO

Two new senior level appointments have been made at the International Maritime Organization following the accession of Mr Efthimios E. Mitropoulos of Greece to the position of Secretary-General at the beginning of the year. Mr Koji Sekimizu of Japan moves across from the Organization's Marine Environment Division to fill Mr Mitropoulos's previous role as Director of the Maritime Safety Division, while Mr Jean-Claude Sainlos of France steps up to become Director of the Marine Environment Division. Bromma Conquip's Board of Directors to Change

Christer Granskog, President and CEO of Bromma Conquip's sister company Kalmar Industries, has been named as the new Chairman of the Board of Bromma Conquip. The new appointment follows the resignation of some of Bromma Conquip's key board members including the former Chairman of the Board, Carl-Gustaf Bergström. The new appointment also follows a period of restructuring within the parent company, Partek Corporation. Terry Howell's position as President and CEO of the Bromma Group is unaffected by the changes. Bromma Conquip and Kalmar Industries will continue to function as separate operating companies each with its own distinct brand, marketing and customer relationship organizations.

ClassNK Announces New Appointments to the Board

Japanese ship classification society Nippon Kaijikyorkai (ClassNK) has announced the following changes in its Executive Board of Directors effective March 1. Chairman and President Kenji Ogawa, Executive Vice President Yukio Tsudo, and Managing Director Kazunori Yamanaka have retired, resulting in three new appointments to the board. Chairman and President Mr. Executive Vice President Mr. Executive Vice President Dr. Managing Director Mr. Managing Director Mr. Managing Director Mr. Managing Director Dr. Ogawa will remain with the Society in the role of Honorary Chairman and Mr. Tsudo will remain with the Society in the role of Senior Adviser to the Society.

Dynamic Oil Expands Middle East Operations

Three new appointments announced as recruitment drive to support expanding customer base continues. Dynamic Oil Trading has announced a series of appointments at the company’s recently launched Dubai office, amid continued expansion of the firm’s Middle East operation. Bunker traders Leonore Lagendijk and Mirko Antichi, as well as accountant Sheila Oller will join Dynamic Oil Trading’s Dubai operation with immediate effect. Leonore comes to the role with three and a half years’ trading experience, having previously held trading jobs at O.W. Bunker Middle East DMCC and BP.

IRClass Announces New Appointments

Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has announced three new senior appointments aimed at boosting its presence in key international maritime centers. The new appointments in Singapore and London are part of IRClass’ strategic plan to expand its capabilities and geographical reach to meet growing demand in these vital markets. Mr. Narayanan Shankar joins as Senior Vice President of Business Development in Singapore. He will co-direct business development and strategy with Mr Anil Devli, Chief Operating Officer (Commercial) of IRClass.

LOC Group Announces Two Appointments

Global marine engineering consultancy LOC Group (London Offshore Consultants) announced appointments in two new positions; John Quarrington has joined the company in London as Group Marine Warranty Surveying Manager and Mark McGurran has been appointed to the Singapore office in the role of Asia Regional Hull & Machinery Coordinator. John Quarrington is based in London where he will be supporting the Group Energy Services Director (Alex Harrison) with the continued development of LOC’s global marine warranty surveying activities across its 33 offices. A master mariner by background, John has worked for large engineering consultancies and oil companies around the world taking the lead on a range of oil and gas projects.

ISS Appoints VP Operations – Marine Outsourcing

Pole Star Appoints Andrew Peters CEO

Pole Star, fleet managers, ship security & vessel monitoring providers, appoint Andrew Peters as compsny Chief Executive Officer. The appointment follows the retirement of interim CEO, Colin Hook, who will continue to serve as a non-executive director of the board. Andrew Peters, previously CEO of Telefonica UK and Deutsche Telekom Ltd, takes the helm as Pole Star embarks on an ambitious strategy to launch new services, expand into new regions and release major enhancements to its existing products. Kruszewski Joins Braemar Engineering

Waukesha Announces New Appointments

Waukesha Engine Division has announced the appointments of William M. McCormick to vice-president, engineering and Lloyd S. Beauchamp to vice-president, sales. In his new position, McCormick will be responsible for all product engineering and product development, as well as warranty administration, technical service and field service. McCormick previously held the position of vice-president, sales. In his new capacity, Beauchamp will be tasked with developing a dedicated worldwide (excluding Europe) unit sales force for both the gas compression and electrical power generation market. Beauchamp previously held the position of director, North American sales.

Griffin Makes New Appointment

The Griffin Global Group Ltd., with the goal of increasing product portfolio, announced the expansion of its corporate business with the appointment of John Prentice as director of Corporate Services. Griffin’s Corporate department will be targeting the offshore and shipping sectors, but do have expansion plans further down the line. Prentice started in the travel business with Air New Zealand. He then came to the United Kingdom and spent 10 years with British Airways, where he served as account manager, Specialist Markets. In 2002, Prentice joined Interargo as director of Sales and joined Griffin in January 2005 following the latter’s acquisition of Argo’s marine and corporate business.

American Commercial Barge Line has announced a number of new appointments. ACBL, headquartered in Jeffersonville, In. is an integrated marine transportation and service company. ACL filed for Chapter 11 protection on January 31, 2003. Paul Book has been named Director of Barge Maintenance. He was previously Director, Audit & Compliance. Mark Dougherty has been named Director, Vendor Vetting. He was previously a Quality Analyst. David Miller takes the helm of Director, Marketing Services. He was previously Director, Marketing Support. Mario Munoz has been named Director, Fleets. He was previously Director of Fleet Operations. John Fox has been named Liquid Unit Tow Planner. He was previously West Canal System Planner. Gary Ruff has been named Gulf Tow Planner.

Sonsub Makes New Appointments

Sonsub announced that Massimo “Max” Ferraris has been confirmed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sonsub Incorporated as well as Saipem’s Manager of the Subsea Robotics Business line. He has corporate responsibility for all of the Sonsub group activities, coordinating and directing the regional areas around the world. North of England P&I Club Announces New Appointments

The 39 million GT North of England P&I club is boosting its successful Greek office with two new appointments. Tony Allen and Helen Yiacoumis, both maritime lawyers with previous experience of working in Piraeus, are joining the office set up two years ago by Mike Salthouse and John Owen to serve the club’s substantial Greek membership. Allen and his Greek-speaking wife, Gordana, returned to Greece this month after four years in England. He formerly worked in Piraeus on P&I and FD&D matters with international maritime law firm Norton Rose before moving to the North of England’s head office in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1998, becoming involved with a wide range of P&I issues including container operations, cargo claims and oil pollution matters.
