Digital Naming of Stena Immortal

The digital naming of the MR tanker Stena Immortal took place January 18 at Stena's new office in Hellerup in the north of Copenhagen. The 50,000 dwt Stena Immortal was built at the Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) shipyard in southeast China and is jointly owned on a 50-50 basis by Stena Bulk and Indonesian Golden Agri Resources (GAR). Following her delivery in September 2016, the 183-meter-long tanker has sailed in one of Stena Bulk's global logistics systems, which currently employ some 60 vessels, with a focus on refined petroleum products, vegetable oils and chemicals.

ClassNK New Surveyor Office in Spain

Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) announced the opening of a new exclusive surveyor office in Ferrol, Spain. The new office becomes the sixth new office to be opened by the Society in 2010, and the third new office to be established by ClassNK in Europe this year. The new Ferrol Office is ClassNK’s fifth exclusive surveyor office to be opened in Spain, joining existing offices in Bilbao, Algeciras, Barcelona and Las Palmas. Since the beginning of this year, the ClassNK register has grown by more than 8 million gross tons to reach a total of more than 177 million gross tons, further cementing ClassNK’s position as the world’s leading classification society. With the opening of the Ferrol Office, ClassNK now maintains a global network of 115 exclusive surveyor offices around the globe.

Maersk Logistics To Open New Offices

Maersk Logistics is to open six new offices in Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. With the opening of the new offices, Maersk Logistics has a total of eight offices in the region, covering Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama.

ClassNK Opens Three New Offices

Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) announced the opening of three new surveyor offices in Tartous, Syria; Callao, Peru; and Sibu, Malaysia, signalling the classification society's steady march of global expansion, served today by 112 offices globally including the three new offices. This expansion also coincides with the dramatic growth of the ClassNK register, which has grown by more than 20 million gt since the beginning of 2008. Astrium Opens New Brazil Office

Astrium Services, a global provider of satellite enabled telecom solutions, has opened a new office in Rio de Janeiro. The new office will focus on sales and support for service providers in the region. It will also be an important link for Norwegian customers of Marlink – Astrium Services’ direct sales channel – many of whom have significant operations in Brazil. The new office is run by newly appointed Sales Director and Country Manager for Brazil, Fabio Riccetto. With over 20 years’ experience in telecom sales and marketing, Riccetto provides the much needed local connection in Brazil. Under Riccetto, the new office will be responsible for direct and indirect sales and will support current and prospective Service Providers and End Users in Brazil.

GreenCarrier to Open Office in Sundsvall

Effective August 1, GreenCarrier, the logistics arm of the Swedish-headquartered Björk.Eklund Group, is opening a new office in Sundsvall, approximately 400km north of Sweden’s capital, Stockholm. New ClassNK Surveyor Office in Cardiff

Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) announced the official opening of a new surveyor office in Cardiff, U.K. The new office becomes the fourth new office to be opened by the Society this year, following the establishment of new offices in Malaysia, Syria, and Peru earlier this month. The new Cardiff Office is also the Society’s fourth office to be opened in the United Kingdom joining offices in London, Newcastle, and Milford Haven. Since opening its first international surveyor office in 1962, ClassNK has grown to have a global presence, with more than 170 million gross tons on its class register and 113 exclusive surveyor offices around the globe.

ClassNK Opens Two New Offices: Russia, Sri Lanka

Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (ClassNK) officially announced the opening of two new exclusive surveyor offices today in St. Petersburg, Russia; and Colombo, Sri Lanka, respectively. The new offices become the 117th and 118th offices (21 in Japan, 97 outside of Japan) in the Society’s global service network. The opening of the new offices continues ClassNK’s aggressive network expansion, which saw the class society open seven new exclusive surveyor offices around the globe in 2010. The new offices in St. Petersburg and Colombo are the first exclusive surveyor offices ClassNK has opened in Russia and Sri Lanka, respectively. New Wilhelmsen Office in St Petersburg

The world’s leading maritime service network Wilhelmsen Ships Service has relocated its St. Petersburg offices to upgraded premises. “The key reason for our move is that the new office space allows for the expansion that we are seeing as we achieve our planned growth of business in this area,” commented James Parsons, Area Director Eastern Europe for Wilhelmsen Ships Service. The new location offers a modern, safe and accessible environment for staff, and provides a convenient location for receiving customers. Wilhelmsen Ships Service will share the office space with its sister companies Wilhelmsen Ships Equipment and Wilhelmsen Marine Personnel. ISS Opens Office in the Amazon

Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) is set to ppen a new office in Santarem, Pará State to cater to the Amazon and Brazil markets. The new office, the company’s third in the Amazon, in addition to Manaus and Belem, will enhance its presence in the booming Brazilian market and is its 10th office in the country. Cpt. Mariano Martinoia, General Manager, ISS Brazil said, “The new office will allow us to better serve our current break bulk and cruise lines client base, as well as explore new business opportunities in the region for dry bulk and grains. The office will be managed by Port Manager, Patrick Nogueira, who recently joined ISS especially to take on the role.  

Liebherr Opens New Office in Peru

With more than 100 attendees Liebherr celebrated the inauguration of the new office in Lima City, Peru. The new office will play a significant role in the South American Market for mining and construction machinery. During the ceremony, guests had the opportunity to get a first-hand look at the new office and meet the Liebherr staff. The new facility represents another milestone for the mining and mobile cranes divisions, and it will strengthen the development of new business opportunities in Peru.

REINTJES Opens Paraguay Branch

Propulsion specialist REINTJES continues with the expansion of its worldwide sales and service network with a new branch office in Paraguay.   The new office opened March 1 to service the markets of Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina and the south of Chile.   The new office will be managed by Marcelo Escondeur, already a business partner for REINTJES in his position as general manager of the distributor Hardo Consulting Cono Sur Srl. Escondeur has 15 years of marine industry experience, especially in the propulsion sector for push boats and fishing vessels.

Ampelmann Opens Office in Houston

Ampelmann announced that it will open a new office in Houston, Texas as the next step in the company’s continued expansion. Ampelmann said the new office strengthens its presence in the Americas and confirms the company’s commitment to the global oil and gas industry. The company, which is headquartered in Delft (The Netherlands) and has offices in Qatar and Singapore has taken up residence in the Two Allen Centre, in downtown Houston. The new office will enable Ampelmann to better support current and future customers in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean and Latin America.

C-Job to Open Rotterdam Office

Naval architecture and engineering firm C-Job will open new office facilities in Rotterdam, operational from March 1, 2017. The new office, which the company said will open in response to growing market demands as well as to attract new employees from a larger geographical area, is C-Job’s third, after the head office in Hoofddorp and the branch office in Joure. “One of the main reasons for establishing an office in Rotterdam is to do with our clients,” said C-Job’s Design Director, Basjan Faber. “Rotterdam is home to a real maritime cluster of companies; all the major players are there.

KOGT Establishes EAME HQ in Guildford, U.K.

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA, established a new EAME (Europe, Africa, Middle East) headquarters in Guildford, U.K. The new office will provide sales and technical support to customers across the EAME region. The new office will be the focal point for all customers operating in the EAME region, initially concentrating on KOGT's solutions and services in the fields of process simulation and flow assurance projects as well as real-time information systems for drilling decision support.

Wärtsilä Opens New Office in Denmark

Wärtsilä celebrates the inauguration of new office and workshop premises in Hirtshals, Denmark. Over the past year Wärtsilä has invested almost $2.6m in the new building. The office in Hirtshals offers a complete range of services for power plant and ship power sales.The new building has 1200 m2 of office space and a further 400 m2 reserved for the workshop and warehouse. Wärtsilä also has offices in Arden and in Copenhagen in Denmark.

Veson Nautical Expands, Opens Oslo Office

Veson Nautical expanded its corporate HQ and opened a new office in Oslo, Norway, to accommodate growth of more than 410% over the past five years and 70% in the past year, according to the company. In May, the company will relocate its corporate headquarters to a larger space at 500 Boylston Street in Boston, MA. The new office in Oslo is led by two highly experienced professionals in the commercial maritime industry, Tomas Hozman, Commercial Director, Europe and Tone Ekman, Senior Consultant. Radio Holland Opens Office in Malaysia

Radio Holland Malaysia opened a new office in Johor, Malaysia to support shipping in the ports of Johor and the vicinity. Over the years, Radio Holland Malaysia has expanded its business to the Southern Region of Malaysia known as Gelang Patah, Johor. With this new office, Radio Holland Malaysia aims to be close by to perform service in the ports of Johor. Already with an office in Port Klang, the new office is located near Malaysia’s container terminal, The Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) located at the confluence of the main east-west shipping lanes.

Crowley Opens New Guatemala City Office

In an effort to better serve customers and business partners, Crowley Maritime Corp.’s Guatemala-based liner and logistics teams have moved into a new office space in the heart of Guatemala City, the country’s bustling metropolis and most populous city in Central America. Modeled after Crowley’s Jacksonville, Fla., headquarters, the office’s open layout maximizes the workspace while promoting a collaborative environment and synergy between the two business units, which were previously housed in separate buildings.

Rayfield Mills Opens London Office

Rayfield Mills a U.K.-based firm of solicitors specializing in maritime and international trade law, opened a new office in London today. Located at 150 Minories, the new office is in the heart of the capital’s shipping and insurance sector. The move to London gives Rayfield Mills the opportunity to consolidate and expand its insurance practice as well as reinforce its relationships with leading P&I clubs. Rayfield Mills’ London fee rates are expected to be very competitive as the firm plans to pass on to clients the savings made from resourcing administrative and support services in Newcastle.

Stolt-Nielsen Opens New Office

Last week the Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group (SNTG) opened a new office in the Rotterdam port area. Some time ago SNTG announced the concentration of its European activities in Rotterdam. From the office the transport of ten million tons of chemical products per year is controlled: two million tons by deep sea vessels, an equal amount by short sea, 5.5 million tons by inland shipping and 400,000 tons in tank containers. SNTG deploys 37 inland vessels under its own flag.

Marlink Opens Office in Singapore

Marlink has moved to a new office in Singapore in order to meet the growing demand for delivery and support of its portfolio of multi-band, business critical communication solutions for maritime customers operating in Southeast Asia. The original Marlink Singapore office was opened in 1998. The new Marlink Singapore office adds new facilities and potential while continuing to be a vital resource for local and international vessels through delivery of sales, installation and support services. The new office managed by Eric Jan Bakker, Head of Sales Asia in Marlink, includes a fully equipped support center operating seven days a week, in addition to live test, demonstration and training facilities, covering all of Marlink’s core connectivity services and solutions.

LOC Strengthens Customer Support

New offices opened in Newcastle (UK) and Leeuwarden (Netherlands). LOC (London Offshore Consultants) opened two new offices to strengthen its service delivery in the North Sea region. Complementing existing LOC hubs in London, Aberdeen and Stavanger, the new offices – both opened on the same day (March, 14) – are located in Newcastle, U.K. and Leeuwarden, Netherlands. Both offices will deliver a range of services to the local customer base including marine engineering, naval architecture, civil engineering, renewable and mariner-related services.
