Campbell Promotes Statler to Senior VP of River Operations

Houston, Pa.-based marine transportation and services business Campbell Transportation Company, Inc. Campbell Acquires NGL's Towboat and Barge Fleet

Houston, Penn.-based Campbell Transportation Company, Inc. (CTC) on Monday announced it has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire the majority of the marine assets owned by NGL Marine, LLC, a subsidiary of Tulsa, Okla.-based NGL Energy Partners LP.The $111.65 million cash deal, which is expected to be finalized by the end of March, includes a fleet of 13 towboats and 25 tank barges that provide waterborne transportation of refined products and crude oil for customers on the Gulf Coast, NGL said. A majority of the fleet will go to Campbell, and another portion will go to an unnamed buyer.For Campbell, the acquisition marks another step forward in its strategic plan to diversify its marine business line, the company said in a statement.

Seapeak Completes Evergas Acquisition

Canadian headquartered shipowner Seapeak on Thursday announced it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Danish shipping company Evergas from France-based Jaccar Holdings.Evergas, previously comprising Greenship Gas Trust and Greenship Gas Manager, is one of the world’s leading seaborne transporters of petrochemical gases and natural gas liquids (NGL).The cash deal, worth approximately $700 million, was announced in October and will see Evergas rebrand and operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Seapeak. Norway's Oil Production Up in November

Norway's preliminary production figures for November 2019 rose in November from the previous month, beating official forecast by 13.2%, said the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).The average daily production stood at 2,016,000 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate in November, which is an increase of 235,000 barrels per day compared to October.Total gas sales were 10.0 billion Sm3 (GSm3), which is an increase of 0.6 GSm3 from the previous month.Average daily liquids production in November was: 1 711 000 barrels of oil, 277 000 barrels of NGL and 28 000 barrels of condensate.Oil production in November is 13.2 percent higher than the NPD's forecast…

KBR Wins Aramco Offshore Contract

American engineering company KBR, Inc., announced that it has been awarded a project management contract by Saudi Aramco to provide project management services for Saudi Aramco's offshore program.KBR will provide project management and engineering services for existing and new offshore facilities to maintain and increase crude production levels to meet Saudi Aramco's maximum sustained capability for production under the company's capital program under the terms of this six-year contract.KBR's Saudi joint venture company, KBR-AMCDE, will undertake all in-kingdom work scopes while KBR's Houston and London operations centers will execute all out-of-kingdom scopes.

US Leads World Oil Reserves

The United States has a world-leading 293 billion barrels of recoverable oil resources, which is 20Bbbl more than Saudi Arabia and 100Bbbl more than Russia, with the Permian Basin leading that charge.Rystad Energy’s estimate of US recoverable oil is also five times more than officially reported proven reserves as published in the BP Statistical Review of World Energy 2019.Tight oil plays in the Permian Basin in Texas and New Mexico now hold 100 billion barrels of recoverable oil resources, according to Rystad Energy’s analysis. Panama Canal Expansion Allows More NGL Transists

In June 2016, the Panama Canal Authority, the body that operates the Panama Canal, opened a third set of locks that facilitated transit of larger ships, the first such expansion since the canal was completed in 1914.In the years since the canal was expanded, the largest change in petroleum flows through the canal has been the increase of hydrocarbon gas liquids (HGL), especially propane, from the U.S. Gulf Coast to destinations in Asia. HGL represents all natural gas liquids (NGL) and olefins.Most of the petroleum transiting the Panama Canal travels southbound from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean. Flows of HGL are the largest single petroleum commodity transiting the canal, according to data from the Panama Canal Authority.

DCP Sells Terminals to NGL

Delaware-based NGL Energy Partners and Colorado's DCP Midstream have executed a purchase and sale agreement under which DCP will convey to NGL its wholesale propane business, generally consisting of seven natural gas liquids terminals in the Eastern United States.Under the terms of the agreement, NGL will acquire 100% ownership of five propane rail terminals operated by Gas Supply Resources, a subsidiary of DCP, and 50% ownership interest in a sixth propane rail terminal.The agreement also includes an import/export terminal located in Chesapeake, Virginia, with the capability to load or unload ships from Handy-sized vessels up to Very Large Gas Carriers. “NGL is excited to acquire these well-operated, high-quality assets from DCP.

Noble Sells Kamsarmax Bulker

Singapore-listed commodity giant Noble Group (NGL)  has announced it has entered into a memorandum of agreement to sell a Kamsarmax-size dry bulk carrier to Cypriot company Ocean Liberty Marine Ltd and Transmed Shipping Ltd for US$24 million in cash. The vessel, called the Ocean Vision, is currently mortgaged to a financial institution. According to sources, part of the proceeds from the sale will go towards paying down the amount owned under the relevant facility. "The proposed disposal does not impact the proposed debt restructuring under the restructuring support agreement, as announced by the company on 14 March 2018," said a statement from Noble.

NOVA Chemicals, Energy Transfer JV for Ethylene Export Terminal

NOVA Chemicals Corporation announced that its subsidiary, NOVA Chemicals Olefins, and a subsidiary of Energy Transfer Partners, Sunoco Partners Marketing & Terminals (SPMT), have entered into a non-binding memorandum of understanding regarding a potential joint venture to develop an ethylene export terminal to be located on the United States' Gulf Coast. The parties will seek market commitment for an anticipated start-up of the terminal by mid-2020. Noble Group To Sell Ship For $24 Million

Struggling commodity trader Noble Group Ltd said it would sell to Bianca Corp a Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier for $24 million in cash. The Hong Kong registered ship has a capacity of 81,499 deadweight tons. Built in 2015, the vessel, Ocean Integrity, is employed to service external customers as well as Noble Group's internal freight requirements. "The consideration for the Proposed Disposal shall be US$24 million payable on completion of the Proposed Disposal and will be satisfied in cash. The Consideration was arrived at after arm’s length negotiations between NGL and the Buyer, on a “willing buyer willing seller” basis, and taking into account, inter alia, the valuation of the Vessel and the Vessel’s specifications and age," said a statement from the company.

WorleyParsons Wins Contract from Saudi Aramco for Marjan Oilfield

Australia's WorleyParsons has won a contract from state oil firm Saudi Aramco to conduct engineering and design work for offshore facilities and pipelines for the expansion of the Marjan oilfield in Saudi Arabia, industry sources told Reuters. Worleyparsons and Saudi Aramco declined to comment. Under the new contract, the Australian company will design and engineer new offshore facilities such as platforms and additional pipelines to link to a new gas facility in Tanajib on the Gulf coast, and from Tanajib to the expanded natural gas liquid (NGL) facility in Khursaniyah, one of the sources said. Saudi Aramco is expanding the oilfield to meet increased demand for gas at home.

Matrix PDM Signs Licensing Deal with GTT

GTT's Houston-based US subsidiary, GTT North America (GTT NA), has signed a license agreement with the American engineering company Matrix PDM Engineering. The agreement was signed at the Matrix Service Company headquarters in Tulsa, OK, in the presence of John Hewitt – Matrix Service Company CEO, Joe Montalbano – Matrix Service Company COO and Matrix PDM Engineering President; and Aziz Bamik – General Manager, GTT NA. The license grants Matrix PDM Engineering the right to implement GTT’s patents to construct onshore storage tanks for LNG (liquefied natural gas), LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and other liquefied gases through affiliated Matrix construction companies.

As Market Sours, LPG Tankers Anchor off Singapore

Record U.S. LPG exports to Asia flip market into a glut. Last year, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supplied to Asia was being snapped up by petrochemical makers. Now, after a flood of U.S. exports into the region, the market is awash with LPG and supplies are being stored in ships anchored off Singapore. At least four Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) are parked off Singapore, including the "BW Carina" and "Berge Nantong", both of which have been there for at least a week, shipping data carried on Thomson Reuters Eikon showed. Norwegian Unions Say 755 O&G Workers Could Strike

About 755 Norwegian workers on seven oil and gas fields could go on strike from Saturday, hitting output from western Europe's top producer, if a new wage deal is not agreed before a Friday deadline, trade unions said on Monday. A final round of mandatory talks will be hosted by a state mediator on June 30 and July 1 in an effort to avoid disruption that could start the following day. The affected fields account for nearly 18 percent of Norway's oil output and a little more than 17 percent of its natural gas, Reuters calculations show. Combined oil output was about 285,000 barrels per day in the first four months of the year, with natural gas output at 48.5 million cubic metres (mcm) per day.

Statoil: New Compressor Means Heightened Production

The new compressor in operation on the Kvitebjørn field in the North Sea from 17 September will increase production there by 220 million barrels of oil equivalent and extend the field’s lifetime with eight years. The compressor will help boost recovery rate and accelerate production on the Kvitebjørn field. The new compressor contributes to an increase in the recovery rate at the Kvitebjørn field from 55% to 70%. “These are very profitable barrels, which make a considerable contribution to wealth creation on the Norwegian continental shelf.
