Noble Denton Spanish Contract

Noble Denton, a global offshore engineering and marine consulting firm, announced the award of a $21.3m contract from ACS Cobra Castor UTE in Spain. The scope of work includes the provision of project management and procurement support services for Castor’s underground gas-storage development initiative. John Wishart, Noble Denton’s group managing director, said, “This initiative will see the redevelopment of the abandoned Amposta reservoir to provide back-up gas supplies for the Mediterranean coast of Spain in periods of high gas demand. The project, which will ensure a reliable gas supply to industrial and domestic consumers in Spain, will run over a four-year period and involve up to 25 Noble Denton personnel.

Noble Denton Honored

Noble Denton Group has joined an elite group of British businesses as it secured 59th place in this year’s Sunday Times Deloitte Buyout Track 100 list. Now in its second year, the prestigious league table ranks Britain’s top 100 private equity-backed mid-market companies with the fastest growing profits (EBITDA) over two years. The research analyses the profit performance of private equity-backed companies, rather than just the buyout deals. Noble Denton is one of 12 energy firms on the list and achieved 39.9% annual profit growth in 2006. The company joined forces with two Norwegian private equity firms, HitecVision and Ferncliff TIH in the same year.

Noble Denton’s Loss

Noble Denton Group recently lost Tony Stafford, the managing director of Noble Denton Singapore and a director of Noble Denton Holdings Ltd. Stafford, born on July 28, 1945, was killed in a traffic accident in Singapore on the evening of January 12, 2002. Stafford began his career in engineering in 1963 as an assistant engineer under training with City Engineer of Sheffield and Borough Engineer of Slough. In 1969, he attended the University of Bradford where he attained a Bachelors degree in Civil and Structural Engineering, which he followed with a Masters degree in Offshore Engineering from University of Liverpool. Upon graduation, Stafford started his career with Taylor Woodrow International as a senior then later chief engineer on various construction projects.

Noble Denton Opens New UK Office

Offshore and marine consulting firm Noble Denton Group has expanded its UK presence with the opening of a new office in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The move is part of an on-going period of global expansion for the company. Noble Denton Consultants Ltd., one of the UK operating companies of the Noble Denton Group, will operate from the Newcastle office in Seaton Burn where the new team has brought specialist skills in design and consultancy for ports, ships and marine operations, using state of the art structural and hydrodynamic tools to underpin their technical work. The office will also provide a base for the existing broad range of Noble Denton Consultants’ technical consultancy services. The new operation will be headed by David Byrne, general manager of Noble Denton Consultants Ltd.
