Incat Crowther Delivers Nordic Maritime's Workboat

Incat Crowther informed that the 30m Catamaran Workboat Nordic Barakuda built at Marine Diesel Services was successfully delivered. The Nordic Barakuda has been built on the expertise and experience Incat Crowther has demonstrated in previous vessels such as Unlimited, Limitless, Straight Shooter and Vejunas. This vast experience has resulted in one of the most capable and versatile vessels of its type and size. With seating for 60 day personnel, accommodation for an additional 10 overnight personnel and Nordic Barakuda’s 6 operational crew, the vessel will perform seismic and crew supply roles in South East Asia. Nordic Barakuda’s 70sqm aft deck, has a deck rating of 3t/m2 with multiple lashing points to support the transit of containers and other freight.

Nordic Shipholding Rebounded in 2014

Danish ship owner Nordic Shipholding turned a profit in 2014 following its 2013 restructuring, the company announced today. The company earned a profit of $2.3 million in 2014 due to improved earnings and a one-off gain of $5.2 million arising from the reversal of impairment loss on the Nordic Anne, a 73,750-dwt tanker. Excluding this gain, the Group incurred a net loss of USD 2.8 million for 2014. The company was $58 million dollars in debt when it entered a conditional restructuring agreement with Nordic Maritime, which was completed in December 2013. Since then, all six vessels were transferred to separate wholly-owned legal entities in Singapore.

Nordic Prince On-hire in Israel for Noble Energy

Nordic Maritime’s MKIII subsea service vessel, Mokul Nordic, has been renamed Nordic Prince and has started a long term charter for Noble Energy after arriving in Haifa, Israel. Nordic Maritime was awarded a five-year charter for the DP2 IMR Subsea vessel from Noble Energy in October. “We are glad to announce that our vessel Nordic Prince had arrived at Haifa Port and on-hire for the highly reputable international oil company, Noble Energy,” said Kjell Gauksheim, Executive Director of Nordic Maritime.

Nordic Prince Chartered by Noble Energy

Nordic Maritime, a leading offshore service operator, today announced its MKIII subsea service vessel Mokul Nordic has been renamed Nordic Prince and has started a long term charter for Noble Energy after arriving in Haifa, Israel. Nordic Maritime was awarded a five year charter for the DP2 IMR Subsea vessel, from Noble Energy, the international oil services group, in October. “We are glad to announce that our vessel, Nordic Prince had arrived at Haifa Port and on-hire for the highly reputable international oil company, Noble Energy. This marks a good start to what we believe will be a strong collaboration between Nordic Maritime and Noble Energy. Nordic Prince is now installed with a WROV and all ready for the new project.” said Kjell Gauksheim, Executive Director of Nordic Maritime.

Nordic Wins with Noble

Nordic Maritime, a leading offshore service operator, today announced a five year time charter for its DP2 IMR Subsea vessel, Mokul Nordic, which has been awarded by Noble Energy, the international energy provider. “At Nordic Maritime, we are delighted to have won this long term charter contract directly with a highly reputed international oil company, Noble Energy. This is a major achievement for us and together with our co-owner of this vessel, MDL Energy, we see this as a potential to grow our fleet of medium size IMR Subsea vessels in the years going forward” said Kjell Gauksheim, Executive Director of Nordic Maritime . Statoil Claims Mokul Nordic for North Sea Charter

Nordic Maritime’s latest fleet addition wins first work with energy giant. Nordic Maritime has announced its newest DP2 vessel, Mokul Nordic, has been contracted for a 30 days firm plus an optional 15 days charter in the North Sea by international energy provider Statoil. “At Nordic Maritime, we are delighted to have won our inaugural contract with Statoil in 2014, the year in which we celebrate our 15th anniversary,” said Kjell Gauksheim, Nordic Maritime CEO. Mokul Nordic is a DP2 VS470 MKIII subsea service vessel capable of ROV / IMR operations.

Nordic Shipholding's Establishses JV

Nordic Shipholding A/S has been informed that Pacific Alliance Group (“PAG”), which controls Nordic Shipholding’s majority shareholder, Nordic Maritime S.á r.l., has entered into an agreement with BW Group regarding the establishment of a joint venture to target a consolidation in the product tanker market. Nordic Shipholding is not a party to the agreement. It is too early to say what the consequences of this agreement will be, if any, for Nordic Shipholding. Nordic Shipholding will discuss this with PAG in the time to come.

Nordic Clinches $23.5m Offshore Seismic Contract

Singapore-based offshore specialist Nordic Maritime has been awarded a $23.5 million contract to provide 3D marine seismic data acquisition and processing services off the coast of Andhra Pradesh, India, to Cairn India Limited, starting later this month. The contract will see Nordic Maritime collaborate with SCF Geo of Russia and will feature that group’s seismic survey vessel Vyacheslav Tikhonov. Nordic Maritime Takes Majority Stake in Nordic Shipholding A/S

In a major shareholder announcement Nordic Shipholding A/S informs that Nordic Maritime S.à r.l. As a consequence of the restructuring, Nordic Maritime and the Company’s lending banks have converted debt for a total amount of approximately USD 72.1 million into new shares and Nordic Maritime has contributed an additional USD 2 million in cash for new shares in the Company. As announced earlier by Nordic Shipholding, board members Erik Bartnes, Mogens Buschard and Saravana Sivasankaran would resign their position as board members upon completion of the restructuring. Consequently, the board of directors now consists of Knud Pontoppidan (chairman), Kristian V. Mørch, Anil Gorthy, Jon Lewis and Philip Clausius.

Nordic Maritime Exercises Option to Subscribe Further Shares

In light of the development of Nordic Shipholding A/S's cash position, as announced by the company in company announcement no. 11/13 published on December 13, 2013, Nordic Maritime has informed the company that it will exercise the option granted to Nordic Maritime in the conditional restructuring agreement entered into between the company and Nordic Maritime on 22 November 2013, to subscribe further shares against a cash payment to the Company of $2 million at completion of the restructuring. Assuming a successful completion of the conditional restructuring agreement, the exercise of the option, will imply that following completion existing shareholders in the Company will hold approx.

Nordic Shipholding Salvation Re-structuring Plan Agreed

Nordic Shipholding has entered a conditional restructuring agreement with Nordic Maritime, who will take over Nordic Ship Holdings debt of about  US$ 58,000,000. The company inform that after the restructuring it will be a tonnage provider in the product tanker segment and the objective is to grow the fleet. The five 37,000 dwt handy-size vessels will remain in commercial management with Maersk, where they participate in the Handytankers Pool, while the technical management of these vessels will remain with TB Marine in Hamburg.

The new Hybrid broadband solution is tailor-made for the shipping industry operating in the Nordic waters. By offering the Net1’s wireless broadband the vessels can get connected with high speed internet while they are close to the Scandinavian shores (50 – 60 nm) or in the ports, without any roaming issues. Once the vessels leave the reach of the wireless network the communication switches over to broadband via satellite, provided by Ancylus.

Shipboard Life in Style

A new concept in luxury living and travel has been brought to realization with the completion of the much-vaunted ResidenSea ship, The World, which made its service debut at European ports during April. The unique vessel, home to a resort community continuously circumnavigating the globe, is the brainchild of Knut U. Kloster Jr., and is a testament to the Nordic maritime sector's propensity for innovation. Mr. Kloster was former chairman of Royal Viking Line and Norwegian Cruise Lines, and his father was a pioneer in the cruise industry, operating vessels out of Miami in the early 1960s. Several prominent cruise, shipping and hospitality industry investors have joined Kloster in funding the company ResidenSea, registered at Freeport, Bahamas.

Finnish Innovation Ascends New Heights

The Finnish shipbuilding industry has been in a state of flux for much of 1999 and entering 2000, with the Kvaerner shipbuilding pullout dominating the headlines. But while the search for new owners of the company's yards in Finland has kept the boardrooms busy, the business of pulling in valuable new orders to keep the facilities busy and building top-quality ships has not missed a step. The big and modern shipyards in Helsinki and Turku are world-renowned for the production of high-value, technically advanced ships, and this reputation and accrued expertise will surely remain well after the Kvaerner nameplate comes down.
