Solstad's PSV, AHTS Secure Australia Contracts

Solstad Offshore, a Norway-based offshore vessel operator, on Friday said it had won contracts for the vessels Normand Ranger and Far Seeker in Australia.The Normand Seeker, a large AHTS, has been awarded a contract in Australia with the start slated for the second quarter of 2021.The anchor handler vessel will mobilize from Norway and will then provide support to a major drilling campaign offshore North-Western Australia, securing about one year of utilization for the vessel…

Mossel Bay Port Ready to Serve Total

South Africa’s smallest commercial port, the Port of Mossel Bay is well equipped to provide value following global energy giant Total’s significant gas condensate discovery on the Brulpadda prospects, located on Block 11B/12B in the Outeniqua Basin, 175 kilometres off the southern coast of South Africa, announced Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA).The authority has dispelled criticism that it may not be ready to answer the call for capacity necessitated by the recent discovery of vast amounts of gas condensate about 175 kilometres south of Mossel Bay.Mossel Bay Port Manager Shadrack Tshikalange said the port’s role in the drilling expedition involved providing land and quay space for the logistics base operations…

Total E&P South Africa Contract for Solstad Farstad

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Farstad has been awarded contact  for two of its vessels by French oil major Total Total E&P South Africa."Total has awarded Solstad a contract for one Large Anchor Handling Vessel (AHTS) Normand Ranger (2010, VS 491 Design) and one Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) Far Starling (2014, PSV 08 CD Design)," said a press release from the company.The contracts are to support Total E&P South Africa’s drilling campaign in Block 11B/12B for 1 well firm + 1 well option, which is expected to commence Q4 2018. Solstad Offshore Secures Contract with Technip

Solstad Offshore ASA (SOFF) says it has entered into a frame agreement with Technip Norge AS and Technip UK Limited (Technip) to supply vessels for trenching, construction and subsea services. The deal’s commercial terms have not been disclosed. The frame agreement, which is valid for 2016-2018, will enable Technip to utilize Normand Progress, Normand Pioneer, Normand Ranger and Normand Mariner. Normand Ranger Delivered

Normand Ranger for Solstad Offshore is delivered from Ulstein Verft May 5. Completion of the anchor handling vessel has been a challenging task but the shipyard delivers the project to the agreed terms within time. Ulstein Verft won the contract with GIEK and Sparebank 1 SR-Bank for completion of the anchor handling vessel last spring. The ship came to Ulstein Verft from the bankrupt shipyard Karmsund Maritime Service in August 2009. Normand Ranger type VS 490 AHTS from Wärtsilä Ship Design.
