Offshore seismic survey specialist Shearwater on Friday announced a new project with the Austrian oil firm OMV for a "pioneering" towed streamer survey with Ocean Bottom Nodes over the Berling gas and condensate discovery in the Norwegian Sea. PGNiG Upstream Norway, a subsidiary of Polish Oil and Gas Company (PGNiG), has obtained a final administrative consent to purchase additional 10% interests in the PL636 and PL636B licences in the North Sea.Following the transaction, PGNiG Upstream Norway’s (PUN) interests in both licences increased to 30%. As a result, the volume of Duva field gas production attributable to the Company will rise to 0.2 bcm per year.“Acquisition of fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf is one of the investment priorities of the PGNiG Group. Our aim is to ensure that as much as possible of the gas that will flow from Norway to Poland following the launch of the Baltic Pipe will come from our own production. This is part of our strategy to diversify supplies and strengthen Poland's energy security.

The Fjords DA has confirmed that is building a sister ship to the diesel-electric plug-in hybrid Vision of the Fjords, launched in 2016. However, unlike its predecessor, this 42m long carbon fibre vessel will be all electric and completely emission free. The Future of the Fjords is slated for launch in April 2018. Currently under construction at specialist shipbuilder Brødrene Aa, the new vessel retains Vision of the Fjords’ eye-catching ‘mountain path’ design and environmentally friendly build, with a hull that minimizes wake and reduces shoreline impact erosion.

MOL Group expanded its exploration portfolio by acquiring new licenses in Hungary and Norway. MOL acquired 6 new licences in the 4th bid round in Hungary, doubling its exploration acreage in the country. MOL Norge participated in the latest APA licensing round and acquired 4 licences in the Norwegian Continental Shelf, one of which with operatorship. The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has announced the results of the APA (Award in Pre-Defined Areas) licensing round, which granted four licences to MOL Norge on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. MOL Group’s Norwegian subsidiary, MOL Norge participated in the second APA licensing round since MOL Group entered Norway in 2015. Statoil’s fast-track development projects are increasing the company’s and partners’ oil and gas production through a combination of standardised subsea development solutions and utilisation of infrastructure in a manner which helps extend the lifetime of existing fields. Production start-up on Fram H-North and Svalin C marks the eighth and ninth fast-track development projects for Statoil. "Together with partners, authorities and suppliers we have been able to develop standardised technical solutions and methods of interaction that yield increased production from the Norwegian shelf," says Statoil’s head of field development on the Norwegian shelf, Ivar Aasheim. The Group’s portfolio of licenses increased to 21, well ahead of its target of 20 licences by July 2014. Rex International Holding Limited (“Rex International Holding” orthe “Company”, and together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”), has announced that its jointly-controlled entity, Lime Petroleum Norway AS (“Lime Norway”) has been awarded five newoffshore licenses in the 2013 Awards in Predefined Areas (APA 2013), according to a Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy press release dated 21 January 2014. The APA 2013 saw 48companies being offered participation in a total of 65 new production licenses on the Norwegianshelf; a new record both in the number of production licenses and the number of companies.

Rex International Holding said its 65% indirectly owned subsidiary, Lime Petroleum Norway AS, has received approval from the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy for the acquisition of 10% interest in each of the two offshore licenses, PL 707 and PL 708, from North Energy ASA. Lime’s 10% interest in each of PL707 and PL708 will become effective from November 29, 2013. The acquisition of the 10% interest in the two licenses is a result of the cooperation agreement between Lime and North Energy. Both concessions are located in the Barents Sea, in proximity to the coast on the Finnmark East platform. PL707 covers an area of about 982 square kilometers while PL708 covers an area of about 507 square kilometers.

Statoil's first quarter 2011 net operating income was NOK 50.7 billion, a 28% increase compared to NOK 39.6 billion in the first quarter of 2010. The quarterly result was mainly affected by a 33% increase in the average prices for liquids measured in NOK, a 20% increase in average gas prices, and a 12% decrease in liftings, when compared to the same period last year. The board of directors of StatoilHydro will propose to the company’s Annual General Meeting on 19 May that the company name be changed to Statoil ASA.
