Drydocks World Signs Agreement with NSC Holding

Drydocks World, an international service provider to the maritime oil, gas and energy sector, signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement with German company NSC Holding, a ship management company located in Hamburg, Germany, managing 56 vessels. Engine Piston Surveys Without Opening Up

German shipping company to implement GL condition monitoring survey arrangement for engine piston performance. German shipping company NSC Schifffahrtsgesellschaft mbH & Cie. KG (NSC) has decided to implement a Condition Monitoring (CM) survey arrangement on the main diesel engine pistons of 49 Germanischer Lloyd (GL)-classed vessels of its fleet. GL's CM survey arrangement helps ship managers to improve the efficiency of the ship operation in their fleets by supporting cost efficient condition-based maintenance schemes.

Double Christening at HDW

Pauline Pane und Carolina Echevarria today christened two containerships at Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft GmbH (HDW) in Kiel, Germany, a company of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, under the names "Carolina E" and "Andres E". Both ships are part of an order for four modern 2,500 TEU container ships that was concluded in June 2003 with MPC Münchmeyer Petersen Steamship GmbH & Co KG. The first two ships were already delivered in 2004. The "Carolina E" is going to the current owner, FHH Fonds Haus Hamburg and the operating shipping company NSC Schifffahrtsgesellschaft mbH & Cie KG. It will sail under the name "Maersk Narbonne" under the charter of the Danish shipping company Maersk. The "Andres E" will probably be delivered in November 2005.
