SGX-listed Marco Polo Marine has signed a framework agreement with wind turbine maker Vestas, which finalizes the previous Memorandum of Understanding signed in December 2022 between its Taiwan-based subsidiary, PKR Offshore Co., Ltd and Vestas Taiwan Co., Ltd for the maiden deployment of its new Commissioning Service Operations Vessel (CSOV). Strategic Shift: POSH Focuses on Floating Wind, Divests Taiwan-based JV

PACC Offshore Services Holdings (“POSH”), a Singapore-based offshore marine services provider, said Friday it would be will be shifting its push into renewables away from operational support in the fixed wind market into the development of the fast-growing floating wind market.As such, the company said it had has divested its Taiwan-based POSH Kerry Renewables Joint Venture (“JV”). POSH entered into a share purchase agreement with Oceanic Crown Offshore Marine Services Ltd, the joint venture arm of Marco Polo Marine Ltd, to sell its entire share capital of PKR Offshore Co. Ltd. Liebherr: Broken Hook Cause of Orion Crane Collapse

Prosafe Emerges as Lowest Bidder in Brazil Offshore Tender

European owner and operator of semi-submersible accommodation vessels Prosafe has submitted the largest bid in two online auctions for the supply of safety and maintenance support vessels to Brazil."Prosafe has participated in an online auction for the supply of safety and maintenance support vessels to Brazil and on conclusion of the auction achieved first place commercial ranking," said a statement from the operator of offshore accommodating units known as flotels.The auction concluded on 23 January 2019 was related to a two batch public opportunity with each resulting contract being for a three year duration.With Prosafe being ranked first place in both batches, the client will nominate which batch the Safe Eurus will be allocated.

JHW has ordered five 85,000 m3 Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs) for a JACCAR/Hartmann Reederei joint venture, called UEC (United Ethane Carriers); each vessel will be powered by a single MAN B&W 6G60ME-GI main engine. Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Co. Ltd. (DSIC) will construct the vessels in China, while Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) will build the engines in Korea. EFC Delivers Equipment to Chinese Shipyard

EFC Group has completed a $2.2million contract to design and build a BOP and diverter control system for China-based Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Co (DSIC Offshore). The system is installed onboard DSIC’s newbuild jack-up drilling rig, JU2000E-13 for drilling contractor Apexindo, where it will be known as Tasha. Successful retrofit to first newbuilding sees Aberdeen-based owner specify further Low Expansion Foam system for second China-built jack-up. Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions (WTS) has received a repeat order to install its Unitor Low Expansion Foam fire extinguishing system on a second jack-up newbuilding for Prospector Offshore Drilling. The specialized firefighting systems will provide fire protection for the shale shakers and mud pits on Prospector  1 and Prospector 5 during their charters to Total E&P UK Ltd.

Offshore DP3 Propulsion Package Order for Wärtsilä

Wärtsilä say they have signed a repeat integrated solution order with the COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co.Ltd shipyard covering another DP3 Dynamically Positioned offshore accommodation rig being built for Singapore based Axis Offshore. The Wärtsilä solution includes the main power generation system, the propulsion system, the electric and automation system, and the automation safety system. The vessel, which is expected to enter service in January 2016, will be equipped with a DP3 dynamic positioning system and will be available for worldwide operations.

Seadrill Acquires High-end Jack-up Rig 'Prospector 3'

Seadrill Limited has entered into an agreement to acquire the company that owns the yard construction contract of the newbuild high specification jack-up rig 'Prospector 3' from Prospector Offshore for a total purchase price of US$235 million. In addition, Seadrill will provide drilling and handling tools, spares and operations preparations resulting in a total cost for this rig, ready to drill, of approximately US$250 million. The Prospector 3 is scheduled to be delivered from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Co., Ltd. (DSIC Offshore) in China during the first quarter of 2014. The new unit is based on the F&G JU2000E design, with water depth capacity of 400ft and drilling depth of 35,000ft.

Prosafe Orders Two Offshore Accommodation Vessels

Prosafe has agreed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co. Ltd. for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of two semi-submersible accommodation vessels, with options for four further units. The pair will be the most advanced and flexible units for worldwide operations excluding Norway, and will be ready for operations in 2016. They will be of Gusto MSC’s Ocean 500 design and will be equipped with 500 beds, DP3 station keeping systems, 10-point chain mooring and 300 tonne cranes. The LoI covers two potential contracts, each in excess of USD 200 million.

China Shipyard Delivers Drill Rig 'Sevan Louisiana'

COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co.,has delivered the third Sevan 650 Ultra-Deepwater Cylindrical Drilling Rig it has built for Sevan Drilling. The Sevan Louisiana, measuring 99 meters in LOA, 75 meters in breadth and 24.5 meters in depth, has a working depth of 3,800 meters and drilling depth of 12,000 meters. The deep water drilling rig and will start the transit to the US Gulf of Mexico, and is expected to commence operation for LLOG Bluewatert owards the end of Q1 2014, following completion of mobilization and certain additional equipment installations.
