As the maritime industry increasingly moves towards propulsion solutions that help cut emissions, battery technology is increasingly taking center stage on a number of ship, boat and offshore energy installations. Exercise IRON MOON 2013 Concludes in Australia
Australian Defense Force (ADF) personnel have completed Exercise IRON MOON 2013, a two week Maritime Counter Terrorism training exercise in the waters off Exmouth and Dampier in North West Australia. The annual exercise involved several hundred personnel from across Defense and Australian federal and state civilian agencies. Incat Crowther Launches Monohull Crew Boats
Incat Crowther has launched two 30m monohull crew boats by Veecraft Marine in South Africa. Perez and Deborah are the first Incat Crowther-designed vessels to be built by Veecraft, and mark a fast-growing relationship between the yard and designer. Incat Crowther has developed a strong relationship with Veecraft Marine, and is pleased to be working with an accomplished shipyard in South Africa. The relationship not only gives Incat Crowther a presence in Africa, it also offers the builder access to a world-leading portfolio of marine designs.
Innovative Cat Crewboat Launched by Topaz
Incat Crowther announced the launch of Topaz Zenith. Launched by Topaz Shipbuilding, this 27.6m Wave Piercing Catamaran Crew Boat has been designed to support offshore energy installations. Part of the development of the vessel focused on an unusual platform for the application. Following the evaluation of a series of criteria, a Wave Piercing Catamaran platform was chosen. The bow of the vessel is configured to interface cleanly with the rig structure, while being well clear in all other areas to avoid risk of collisions and injuries.
