Rolls-Royce Inks Service Deal with Siem Offshore, Subsea 7

Siem Offshore and Subsea 7 have signed a joint three-year service agreement with Rolls-Royce. The agreement covers a total of 74 offshore vessels. This is the first agreement the two Siem owned companies have signed with the same service provider. Under the agreement, Rolls-Royce will maintain and service all of the equipment it has delivered to the two companies’ offshore vessels. At present, aftermarket services account for roughly 40 percent of Rolls-Royce Marine’s revenues. Long-term agreements account for around a quarter of this.

GC Rieber Gets Extension for 'Polar Onyx'

Norwegian offshore shipowner GC Rieber Shipping has entered into an agreement to extend the fixed contract period for "Polar Onyx," according to a press release. The agreement secures the ship until the end of August 2017. It had won the initial contract for the vessel in early March. At the time, the company said that the charter would see the vessel continue operating in West Africa. Polar Onyx is a high capacity flexible piplay and subsea construction vessel built for harsh conditions and deep waters. The vessel is designed to operate in the SURF/Construction/IMR market.

Harvey Gulf Makes Software Investment

Harvey Gulf International Marine recently deployed Advanced Logistics’ marine management system SAMM and preventative maintenance module Preventer on its fleet of marine transportation vessels. Acclaimed Launches EPOCH for OMM

ABS has issued the first Integrated Software Quality Management (ISQM) Product Design Assessment (PDA) Certificate in the Asia-Pacific region for Industrial Control Systems software to Singapore-based Excel Marco, a solutions provider for process automation and safety systems for the marine and offshore industries. The SPCP assess 81 requirements and best practices to improve delivered software quality and integrity. Tero Marine Secures Boa Offshore Contract

Tero Marine informs it has secured a multimillion (NOK) contract for delivery of fleet management software to Norwegian shipping company Boa Offshore. The Bergen-based tech company will install its TM Master suite on 14 vessels.
