Louisiana Offshore Oil Port Suspends Tanker Loading Due to Storm

The Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP) suspended tanker offloading at its offshore marine terminal on Sunday because of Tropical Storm Sally, the company said in a statement posted on-line.The LOOP is the nation's only oil port able to receive the largest crude oil tankers. Its onshore storage facilities continued to operate as Sally, forecast to become a hurricane, threatened the Louisiana coast, the company said. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Muralikumar Anantharaman)

OOCEP Ships First Crude Oil from MGP Terminal

Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production LLC (OOCEP) shipped its first crude oil cargo from the Musandam gas plant (MGP) with the support of UAE-based Marsol International. OOCEP, a subsidiary of Oman Oil Company S.A.O.C exported 300,000 barrels of crude oil as part of the operation, which were fully processed at the MGP on May 4 in Oman. Marsol Awarded Middle Eastern Contracts

Marsol International, a UAE-based global marine solutions provider focused on the offshore oil terminal market and related infrastructure, has been awarded two contracts in Oman. The first contract involves a Single Point Mooring (SPM) change out, including the removal of the existing aging structures followed by installation of new buoys. The second contract involves providing and managing all marine and offshore activities related to tanker loadings via an SPM offshore marine terminal, including marine works, vessels, equipment and manpower.

Update: LOOP Terminal Shutdown

LOOP's Offshore Marine Terminal suspended its crude oil offloading operations on August 13 while investigating an oil sheen discovered along the pipeline. According to the terminal, field crews continue to execute the repair plan as scheduled. Estimates indicate that marine offloading operations may resume between August 21-23. LOOP said it will continue to evaluate options to safely expedite offloading operations when repairs are complete. All other pipelines into and out of the Clovelly Hub remain operational. loopllc.com

Offshore Terminal Shut After Sheen Discovered

LOOP's Offshore Marine Terminal suspended its crude oil offloading operations while investigating an oil sheen discovered along the LOOP pipeline right-of-way on August 13. Sheening continued in the area of the pipeline. Activities are underway to inspect and repair the pipeline. Preliminary estimates indicate that marine offloading operations may resume between August 23 and 2. LOOP said it will continue to evaluate options to safely expedite offloading operations when repairs are complete. These activities do not affect LOOP's onshore operations at the Clovelly Hub and deliveries of crude oil continue on schedule. All other pipelines into and out of the Clovelly Hub remain operational.
