OSM Officially On Board Statoil’s Peregrino

Efforts in Brazil are reinforced for OSM with more than 90 specialized offshore positions officially on board the Peregrino. “OSM Brazil have successfully mobilized our crew on board the FPSO Peregrino,” says Tommy Olofsen, Managing Director of OSM Crew Management. Veripos Extends Network with Falklands

Veripos, a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning solutions to the offshore oil and gas industries, has extended its multi-source Differential GPS service for South Atlantic and Southern Ocean regions with the establishment of new reference station facilities in the Falkland Islands. The new station will help facilitate further positioning support for a range of offshore positioning and survey tasks by delivering augmentation on the 98W and AORW Inmarsat communications beams. User guidance on how to manually add Falklands to Veripos’ Verify station listings are located at the Knowledge Base section of its Online Support System (VOSS) (http://help.veripos.com).

Fugro Wins Large Chevron Offshore Navigation Contract

Netherlands-based Fugro has been contracted by Chevron subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Ltd, to support its development program at Block 0, off the coast of Cabinda province, Angola. The contract includes the provision of offshore positioning services and accurate navigation systems for Chevron’s drilling units, vessels and structures, together with both onshore and offshore survey services. Fugro’s offshore geophysical data acquisition services will be supplemented by data processing, interpretation and reporting. At Chevron’s onshore facilities in Malongo, Fugro’s survey services will include subsidence evaluations, topographical surveys, chart production, interpretation and reporting. www.fugro.com

Fugro has further extended its technology leadership in the field of GNSS augmentation systems for offshore positioning applications with the launch of its G4 service. iSURVEY Bags rig positioning, surveying contract with Shell

iSURVEY has secured a non exclusive call-off contract with Shell UK Ltd, Shell NAM, Norske Shell and Shell E&P Ireland for the provision of rig positioning and surveying services. With an effective date of 1 January 2017, the three year contract, which has the option of up to two, one year extensions, will see iSURVEY provide non exclusive rig and surface positioning services, subsurface positioning and dimensional control and platform surveys to Shell’s mobile offshore drilling units.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Vestas Wind Systems (Vestas) have appointed Philippe Kavafyan to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Lars Bondo Krogsgaard to Co-Chief Executive Officer (Co-CEO) of MHI Vestas Offshore Wind. UTEC Consolidates Middle East Position

Leading independent offshore survey company UTEC has consolidated its presence in the Middle East and has completed another significant contract for a major international pipelay contractor. This is the second year in succession that UTEC has provided support to the contractor in the region. The UAE (Dubai) project involved UTEC supporting the state-of-the-art DP pipelay vessel in extremely shallow water providing enhanced USBL methodologies as well as the provision of survey support services on two additional DP vessels which provided diver support and remedial services to the pipelay vessel.

Fugro Opens New office in Mozambique, East Africa

Stolt Offshore Awarded $50M Contract in Norway

Stolt Offshore S.A. announced that it had been awarded a contract valued at approximately $50 million by Hydro Oil and Energy for the installation of an export pipeline from the Njord FPU to the Asgard transportation pipeline. The contract is for the installation of 40 kilometers of twelve inch diameter pipe together with the design, fabrication and installation of associated structures, trenching, rock dumping and the tie-in of the pipeline. Engineering work for this project has now started. The installation work will take place in 2006 and 2007. Vroon Offshore Vessel Undergoes Modification Work

Damen Shiprepair Oranjewerf has completed final outfitting and modifications on a second subsea-support walk-to-work (W2W) vessel for Vroon Offshore Services (VOS). VOS Stone was built at Fujian Southeast Shipbuilding in China before coming to the Netherlands for completion. Veripos Wins Major Offshore Contract

Veripos’ Houston-based Americas Region has been awarded major offshore positioning contracts by , LSP, Tidewater and WesternGeco for vessels operating in Brazilian, Mexican and US waters. The contracts also cover supply of proprietary integrated demodulator and GNSS receivers and associated software modules to ensure seamless high-precision sub-metre positioning for survey, construction support, seismic and general offshore operations. Facilities being provided to LSP for its well-testing vessel, Aires Swan, operating in Mexican waters on long-term contract to PEMEX include Veripos’ dual-beam Standard and Standard HF augmentation data services together with LD2 and LHD2 integrated demodulator and GNSS receivers.

Bayliss Joins IMCA as Technical Advisor

A new Technical Adviser, Paul Bayliss, has joined the expanding London secretariat of the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA). He will help to manage the significant work programme of the Association supporting members towards safer and more efficient marine operations. Maersk Supply Service to Cut Fleet, Crew

The AP Moller-Maersk Group subsidiary Maersk Supply Service,, which is part of the "fifth leg" in the light blue conglomerate, is divesting up to 20 vessels over the coming 18 months and reducing its crew pool by 400 offshore positions. The divestment plan is a response to vessels in lay-up, limited trading opportunities and the global over-supply of offshore supply ships. Bibby Offshore Recapitalization Completed

Subsea services provider Bibby Offshore Holdings Limited said it has completed the recapitalization of its balance sheet announced on December 5, 2017. The agreement to recapitalize the balance sheet was approved January 10 by 98.7 percent of noteholders of the £175 million (approximately $243 million) 7.5 percent senior secured notes, and makes noteholders the new owners of the group. “The completion of the recapitalization will be transformational for Bibby Offshore and is a major milestone for our business,” said Howard Woodcock, chief executive of Bibby Offshore.

Eidesvik Scores Work for Two Vessels

Norwegian shipping company Eidesvik Offshore ASA  has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with Seabed Geosolution for the use of  two vessels. Contract commencement are ultimo January to primo February and the duration is expected to last for the remaining part of 2018. The LoI is for the use of the multi-purpose support vessel Subsea Viking and for the use of the seismic vessel Vantage. Recently, Eidesvik Invest AS, together with some of the largest shareholders in Eidesvik Offshore, have undertaken to subscribe new equity in a private placement of NOK 120 million at a price of NOK 5 per share.

UTEC Opens New Regional HQ in Aberdeen, Scotland

UTEC has reinforced its presence in Scotland with the opening of new regional headquarters in Aberdeen. The purpose fitted building comprises over 3000 sq. ft. of modular office accommodation and 4000 sq. ft. of workshop/warehouse space, enabling further development of the range of services available to clients at home and overseas. UTEC Ink Australia Subsea Survey Contract

UTEC Survey contracted by a major subsea pipelay contractor for survey work on the Great Western Flank Pipe Lay. This project encompasses pre-lay, installation support and as-built survey support on the Greater Western Flank development off the North-west coast of Australia. Pre-lay work is due to commence in late March 2013 with the major pipelay activities to follow in Q3. UTEC’s equipment and personnel will operate from a number of vessels including one of the contractor’s state-of-the-art DP pipelay vessels capable of laying 16” CRA pipe.
