Anagnostopoulos Appointed to Seanergy Board

Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: SHIP; SHIP.W) announced that Dimitris Anagnostopoulos has been appointed as member of the Board of Directors and Audit Committee. Anagnostopoulos fills the vacant position of Lambros Papakostantinou following his resignation in March 2009. Anagnostopoulos has over forty years of experience in ship finance. His career began in the 1970s at Athens University of Economics followed by four years with the Onassis Group in Monte Carlo. Anagnostopoulos also held various posts at Continental Illinois National Bank of Chicago, Greyhound Corporation, and with ABN AMRO, where he has spent nearly two decades with the company, holding positions of senior vice-president and head of shipping.

Double Hull Tanker Delivered For Duty

Exxon Mobil Corporation announced that the M/T Hawk , a new double-hull very large crude oil carrier (9VLCC), was delivered for leasing to a Trust established by MARCARE Shipping Co., a joint shipping venture among subsidiaries of ExxonMobil, the Onassis Group and Petros J. Goulandris Sons Group. The Hawk, the first of two sister vessels to be leased to MARCARE, will be chartered by International Marine Transportation Limited (IMT), a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation based in the UK. The joint venture, in which all three partners hold an equal share, was formed in December 1998. The ship was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries and delivered at a naming ceremony today at Hyundai's Ulsan, Korea shipyard, the world's largest yard. The 307,000 dwt Hawk is 1,100 ft. (335 m) long, 190 ft.

Subsidiaries of ExxonMobil, Onassis Group, Goulandris Group Launch Double-hull Tanker

Exxon Mobil Corp. announced that M/T Kestrel, a new double-hull very large crude oil carrier (VLCC), was delivered for leasing to a Trust established by Marcare Shipping Co., a joint shipping venture among subsidiaries of ExxonMobil, the Onassis Group and Petros J. Goulandris Sons Group. Kestrel, the second of two sister vessels to be leased to the Marcare Trust, will be chartered by International Marine Transportation Limited (IMT), a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation based in the UK. Kestrel's sister ship, the M/T Hawk, was delivered for leasing on August 25, 2000. The joint venture, in which all three partners hold an equal share, was formed in December 1998. QEII Again Stirs Repair Interests

Interest in the European cruise ship repair market is currently focused on which shipyard will win the $31.3 million contract to repair the 1968-built, 70,327-grt cruiseship Queen Elizabeth II, owned by Cunard Line. There are currently three shipyards shortlisted for the work — Bremerhaven’s Lloyd Werft, Hamburg’s Blohm + Voss Repair and the U.K.’s A&P Southampton. The contract is expected to be awarded soon, with the drydocking dates scheduled for between November 12 and December 11.
