Global shipping giant Teekay LNG Partners can count itself as owner of the world’s most expensive fleet of whole gas (LPG and LNG) ships, worth a combined $6.9 billion, according to online ship intelligence and information service VesselsValue.com. Iran Preparing for Crude Exports

An infographic examining the laden VLCCs owned by Iran has been generated by online ship intelligence and information service VesselValue.com.   Iran stands at present as the fifth largest owner of laden VLCCs in the world by value, currently with 25 vessels worth a total value of $1.449 billion, amounting to 7.7 million DWT, according to VesselValue.com. This is equivalent to 56.7 million barrels of crude oil.   Of Iran’s 25 laden VLCCs, 17 are at anchor, six are underway, one is moored and one is constrained by draught.

The World's Most Expensive Jones Act Tanker

The series highlighting the world's most expensive active vessels from online ship intelligence and information service VesselsValue.com focuses this week on the most expensive tanker vessel, which is not a VLCC but a Jones Act aframax. The first-in-class double hull tanker Liberty Bay is an 820-foot, 115,000 dwt aframax tanker built this year by Aker Philadelphia and owned by Seariver Maritime. The tanker, which has an 800,000-barrel capacity and supplies crude oil from Alaska North Slope to refineries along the U.S. west coast, prices in at approximately $184.7 million.

Containership Cleared of Ebola Risk

Containership Hammonia Pacificum has been cleared of Ebola risk at the Port of Ricahrd Bay after being stopped previously at several West African ports, according to online ship intelligence and information service VesselsValue.com. The ship, though carrying a 'quarantine alert' yellow flag, was allowed to berth in Richard's Bay instead of being left at outer anchorage for health inspections, VesselsValue.com reported in its weekly newsletter The Trumpet.

Selling the World's Priciest Ship...

Online ship intelligence and information service VesselValue.com has launched a series highlighting the world's most expensive active vessels, and this week focuses on the costliest of all: QMAX liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Zarga, which prices in at a whopping $221.8 million. According to VesselValue, Zarga’s sticker price is equal to 1.5 of Real Madrid footballer Gareth Bale’s $145 million transfer fee, 13 12-carat Pink Diamonds at a value of $17 million each, or 49 Lamborghini Veneno Roadsters which cost $4.5 million apiece.
