Phoenix Wins $112 Million Navy Contract

Phoenix International Holdings Inc. announced it has been awarded a $112 million cost-plus-award-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for worldwide undersea deep ocean search and recovery operations and engineering and technical support to the U.S. Navy Director of Ocean Engineering, Supervisor of Salvage and Diving (SUPSALV). Equinor Subsea Pact with Aker Solutions, TechnipFMC

Equinor is signing collaboration agreements with Aker Solutions and TechnipFMC for subsea equipment and services on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) and internationally.For several decades, the subsea segment has been central in developing Equinor and the NCS. Keppel Posts Lower Q2 Profit, Warns on Rig Outlook

Q2 profit S$161 million versus S$205 million year ago; O&M division net order book at S$3.4 billion. Singaporean conglomerate Keppel Corp posted a 21 percent drop in its quarterly profit and warned it did not expect a speedy recovery in the offshore and marine market. The conglomerate and its smaller cross-town rival Sembcorp Marine have been hit by an oversupply of offshore oil drilling rigs, with customers delaying contracts and refraining from placing new orders with oil prices expected to stay lower for longer. "Despite some pick-up in activity in the offshore market, the general consensus is that, with the prevailing uncertainty in the oil market, and oversupply in the jackup market, a quick recovery is unlikely," said CEO Loh Chin Hua.

Keppel, Shell Form JV for Singapore LNG Bunkering

Keppel Corp Ltd has entered into an agreement with Royal Dutch Shell to form a joint venture company, which will establish a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering business in Singapore, says a report in Reuters. The two companies will have a 50 percent stake each in the joint venture. Its principal business activity will be to supply LNG bunkering operations services in Singapore to ships and any other marine vessels in the Singapore port and other related services, Keppel said in a statement. The joint venture is the latest in Shell’s push to establish as LNG as a viable marine fuel. The abovementioned transaction will not have any material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of KCL for the financial year ending 31 December 2016, says a company statement.

Statoil Inks Subsea pacts with Duo

Statoil Petroleum AS has signed Master Service Agreements with Aker Solutions ASA and OneSubsea Processing AS. The agreements signed form the basis for potential new EPC contracts (engineering, procurement and construction) for subsea equipment in the medium term future. An EPC option agreement for subsea production system (SPS) has also been signed with OneSubsea, including framework agreements for subsea operations services and subsea add-ons. CWind Launches German Subsidiary

CWind announced the launch of its wholly-owned subsidiary in Germany. CWind Germany will be headquartered in Hamburg and will be responsible for the sales and marketing of CWind’s services in Germany. The company has also said it has won the license to lease employees under German law, known in Germany as ‘Arbeitnehmerüberlassungslizenz’ and is now in a position to lease employees as third party technicians to German client companies. CWind is building a leading position in the U.K. and Germany and is looking at opportunities to further expand its footprint in the region.

AWA Opens Houston Office

American Worldwide Agencies (AWA) is adding to its global network of freight forwarders and agents with a new office in Houston, the company announced today. The Houston office is part of AWA's global expansion plans and will handle the company's growing business in the region for project freight, oil and gas, breakbulk and containerized cargo moves. "Houston is the number one U.S. port in foreign tonnage and is the largest Gulf Coast container port," says Andrew Scott, AWA's CEO. "It also is in major growth mode, with both imports and exports on the rise. "We take a team approach to handling cargo and we have many vendors in the region who are experts at managing containerized, ocean, air, oil & gas and oversized shipments," says Scott. GE Oil & Gas Awarded Statoilhydro Contract

GE Oil & Gas announced that it has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver Subsea Operations Services (SOS) to StatoilHydro, the Norwegian based oil and gas company. The contract has an estimated value of between $25- $30m per year and will be managed by GE Oil & Gas in Dusavik, Stavanger, Norway. Jeppesen Marine Donates to SCI

Jeppesen Marine has donated its Workboat Navigator software packages to two Seamen’s Church Institute’s (SCI) Centers for Maritime Education for use in mariner training courses. Both the Paducah, Ky. and Houston, Texas facilities received four licenses to run on the installed simulators, plus an additional program for the lab computer. Founded in 1834, SCI’s education facilities provide navigational training to mariners through simulator-based facilities. The Paducah education center is used for training inland mariners, and the Houston facility trains inland, coastal and deep-sea mariners. Aker Kværner Forms FPSO Operations Entity

Aker Kvaerner and the Norwegian ship owner Aktieselskabet Borgestad ASA established a new company named Aker Borgestad Operations AS, combining expertise within oil field processing and marine operations. The new company will operate oil and gas production vessels on behalf of Aker Floating Production, a company which owns several Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. This business model allows Aker Floating Production to remain focused on developing business, leveraging Aker Kvaerner and Borgestad, which both have operations of assets as part of their core business.
