Survey: Robust Commitment to Low Sulphur Cap

PISR touts its Detention 'Clean Sheet'

Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) reports it has recorded a zero percentage detention record with the United States Coast Guard (USCG) in the latest figures issued for 2016-2018 Port State Control examinations.The USCG targets flags for additional Port State Control examinations if their detention ratio scores are higher than the three-year rolling average detention record. PISR, VERIFAVIA Enter Verification Service Agreement

Verifavia, an environmental verification, certification and auditing body for aviation and maritime transport and will work with Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) to provide IMO Data Collection System (DCS) verification services to Palau-flagged vessels. The DCS reporting process uses the method of reporting of fuel oil consumption. Verifavia will provide PISR vessels with a complete reviewed Data Collection Plan (DCP). They will be built-into the SEEMP Part II by December 31, 2018, allowing PISR to issue a Confirmation of Compliance to its fleet by May 31, 2020.

Palau Registry Sails into Top Spot

Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) has become the fastest growing flag in the shipping world with an impressive 43.2% growth in the number of vessels joining the registry since 2013 according to Fairplay magazine. Recording strong growth that puts it well ahead of other expanding registries such as Portugal, Saudi Arabia and the Cook Islands, Palau has attracted significant numbers of tankers into its fleet along with Ro-Ro vessels, bulk carriers and offshore ships. Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) said it has expanded its global reach into 29 countries with a total of 42 Deputy Registrar offices around the globe. The maritime hub of Panama is one of the PISR offices to deliver state of the art registration services and has now appointed Melyssa Alejandra Barrios, Deputy Registrar for PISR. Palau Reports Increase in WRC Applications

Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) has received a high volume of applications from owners looking to have the correct documentation in place prior to the imminent entry into force of the Nairobi Wreck Removal Convention.
