Great Lakes Cruising Inks New Lease Agreement with Port Milwaukee
Port Milwaukee is entering into a lease agreement with Pearl Seas Cruises to give the company priority docking rights for its cruise ships at Pier Wisconsin, the downtown dock immediately east of Discovery World museum. The Board of Harbor Commissioners approved the agreement at its meeting Thursday morning.“Pearl Seas has been a great partner with our port, bringing passengers to our city and establishing Milwaukee as a center of Great Lakes cruising,” Mayor Tom Barrett said. “Starting with the 2021 cruise season, that partnership is growing, which is wonderful news for the city, for Pearl Seas, and for the vacationers discovering Great Lakes Cruising.”The cruise line’s ship, the Pearl Mist, has visited Milwaukee regularly in recent years.
Panama Canal's Cruise Season from October 3
The Panama Canal cruise ship season 2015-2016 will officially begin on October 3 with the transit of Costa Luminosa, on a voyage from Italy around the world. “Approximately 220 cruise ships are expected to transit through the Panama Canal during this season that spans from October 2015 to April 2016,” said international trade specialist Albano G. Aguilar of the Vice Presidency for Planning and Business Development. Just like previous years, the main cruise lines including Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line will offer itineraries of 10 or more days, including the Panama Canal as part of the experience.
Pearl Seas Cruises Adds Voyages to Cuba
Pearl Seas Cruises plans to launch a series of “cultural voyages” from the United States to Cuba beginning in the spring of 2016, the cruise line announced today. Offering 7- to 10-night voyages aboard the line’s newest vessel, the 210-passenger luxury ship Pearl Mist, the round trip voyage from South Florida will visit several Cuban ports including Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba. MTN Communications (MTN) says that three cruise operators around the world have selected the company for its passenger, crew, corporate communications and content services. Lindblad Expeditions – a pioneering travel company that works in partnership with National Geographic to provide expdeditions promoting conservation and sustainable tourism around the world. Pearl Seas Cruises has selected MTN as service provider for its inaugural ship, the 210 passenger Pearl Mist, which was recently launched in Baltimore. Windstar – a sailing luxury small ship cruise line offering the feel of a private yacht. The operator is renewing its ten-year relationship with MTN, including plans to leverage service on its two newest ships, the Star Breeze and Star Legend, bringing the total fleet to six.
