Fast Ferry Delivered to Zhuhai High Speed Ferry Company
Afai Southern Shipyard (Panyu Guangzhou) Ltd. and CoCo Yachts B.V. announced that the second of the two new fast ferries, Hai Jing, was delivered to Zhuhai High Speed Ferry Company on April 22, 2016. During the sea trials a top speed of 38 knots at full load was measured. According to the builder, special attention has been given to ensure high level of outfitting in the passenger accommodation, both on main and upper deck. Both exterior color design and interior design has been made by Spear Green from Australia.
Chinese Fast Ferry Delivered
Afai Southern Shipyard (Panyu Guangzhou) Ltd. and CoCo Yachts B.V., announced that the first of the two fast ferries was delivered to Zhuhai High Speed Ferry Company in late February. The vessel named HAI QIN recorded a top speed of 38.11 knots at full load on sea trials. The second vessel named HAI JING was launched and sea trials have recently been completed, the company reports.. The performance of HAI JING is identical to HAI QIN in achieving a speed of 38 knots at full load and slightly lower noise levels ( 74 dB(a) on main deck and 70 dB(a) on the upper deck).
New Ferry for Shenzhen Peng Xing
Designed for reduced fuel consumption at high speed and full load condition, the contract speed of 31.5 knots with only 2 x 1080 kW installed power was a challenge. The expected fuel reduction compared to similar vessels should be at least 15%. Due to weight control from both designer and builder, the vessel was built 5% lighter than estimated and with the outstanding performing of engines and jets, the average speed at full load condition was recorded at 32.8 knots, resulting in a reported fuel saving of 20%.
CoCo Yachts Wins Order for Three Ferries
In the same week of the launching of fast ferry Peng Xing 15, the first Coastal Cruiser 200 designed by CoCo Yachts and built by AFAI Southern Shipyard, Peng Xing ferry company decided to sign the contract for another three Coastal Cruiser 200 fast ferries. The new contract was signed on January 10, 2014 in the main office of the Peng Xing Group. The fast ferries shall be delivered to Peng Xing Ferry company in 2015, and shall be deployed to run services in the Pearl River delta between Shenzhen – Zhuhai – Hong Kong – Macau P.R.
