MPC Brings in Peter Ganz for Shipping
Former Hapag-Lloyd CFO Peter Ganz has joined the top management team of the Hamburg asset and investment manager MPC Capital AG's shipping business with effect from 1 January 2016. As a member of the extended Management Board the 48-year old Business Administration graduate will be in charge of the company's shipping activities. Until last year Ganz served as CFO of Hapag-Lloyd AG for six years. In that role he was deeply involved in the successful restructuring of Hapag-Lloyd, primed the company for operating on the capital market and thereby secured financing for additional growth. Most recently, he contributed significantly to the merger with the Chilean shipping company CSAV.
Hapag-Lloyd CFO Ganz Steps Down
Peter Ganz will step down from his position as company CFO effective April 1, 2015, also leaving the company on the same day, as announced during today’s meeting of Hapag-Lloyd’s Supervisory Board. The Supervisory Board has given its approval. The change on the Executive Board comes following an agreement between shareholders stipulating that CSAV, as the new largest shareholder in Hapag-Lloyd, has the right to nominate an individual of its choice to assume the position of CFO.
Habben Jansen Takes over as Hapag-Lloyd CEO
Hapag-Lloyd announced changes in its Executive Board resulting from departure of Michael Behrendt and Ulrich Kranich; Anthony J. Rolf Habben Jansen, who has been a member of the Hapag-Lloyd AG's Executive Board since April 1, has assumed the position of CEO effective July 1. He succeeds Michael Behrendt, who left the Hapag-Lloyd AG's Executive Board as scheduled on June 30, as did COO Ulrich Kranich. The new COO is Anthony J. Firmin who joined the Executive Board today after 19 years at the company. Peter Ganz continues as CFO, a position he has held since April 2009.
Hapag-Lloyd Executive Board Appointments
Peter Ganz and Roland Kirch are to be appointed to the Hapag-Lloyd executive board. Peter Ganz is to be appointed by the Hapag-Lloyd supervisory board at its next meeting to the executive board of Hapag-Lloyd AG as chief financial officer. After studying business administration, Ganz began his career in 1994 in the Finance Department of TUI AG. In 2000, he took over the responsibility of TUI’s Group Treasury. In September 2007, he was appointed as Director Corporate Finance. He was significantly involved in the disposal process of Hapag-Lloyd AG to the Hamburg Consortium.
