New Versatile McDermott CSV Christened

McDermott International, Inc. informs of the christening of its new Construction Support Vessel 108 (“CSV 108”) at Metalships & Docks shipyard in Vigo, Spain. The shipyard hosted a naming ceremony attended by Tony Duncan, Executive Vice President, Subsea for McDermott and Manuel Rodríguez, Chairman of Metalships & Docks, SAU, local dignitaries and project staff. “We expect the CSV108 to join the fleet in 2015, once the final deck equipment has been installed,” said Duncan. CSV108 will immediately transit to Norway for the installation of two portside active heave compensated cranes for the final stage in its construction. McDermott is a leading provider of integrated engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) services for upstream field developments worldwide.

CapRock Wins Maritime Contract

CapRock has added Subsea 7, a major operator of energy support vessels, to its customer list. The long-term multi-million dollar agreement with Subsea 7 provides for worldwide data and voice communications services on CapRock’s global network. The latest win is a milestone in CapRock’s multi-year plan to expand its presence beyond the Gulf of Mexico, following its customers around the world with turnkey communications. Under the terms of the agreement, CapRock will provide global interconnectivity via satellite for the Subsea 7 fleet of ships, which offer construction, diving, ROV/survey and pipelay services to customers who operate in harsh and remote marine environments all over the world.

Horizon, Cal Dive Form Joint Venture

Horizon Offshore, Inc. has entered into a letter of intent with Cal Dive International, Inc. (CDI) to conduct reeled pipelay projects in deepwater areas of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The two companies will jointly fund construction of pipelay equipment to be used in conjunction with CDI's dynamically positioned (DP) vessel, the Sea Sorceress, currently undergoing conversion. In addition, Horizon will construct a pipe spooling facility at its Port Arthur, Texas, shore base.
