Gorgon LNG Faces Scrutiny on Delayed Carbon Capture Project

The state of Western Australia has ordered an inquiry into a delay in burying carbon dioxide emissions at Chevron Corp's Gorgon liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, which could lead to a change in conditions on the project.The state approved the $54-billion Gorgon project in 2009 on the condition that at least 80 percent of carbon dioxide released in its gas processing operations over a five-year rolling average period would be buried."It has become apparent there needs to be a clearly defined start point for the commencement of the five-year rolling average…

American Sensor Technologies Achieves ATEX Certification

American Sensor Technologies, Inc. (AST) has achieved ATEX certification of its Explosion Proof Pressure Transmitters for Class I Zone 0 Exd hazardous locations. The added approvals enhance the ability for equipment manufacturers to specify AST pressure transducers as the sensors can now operate in both North America and Europe. AST Explosion Proof Pressure Transducers are commonly used in upstream and offshore applications where safety, reliability and performance are crucial. Additionally, the AST4300 Non-Incendive Rugged Pressure Transmitter Series is qualified as ATEX Class I Zone 0 Exd and the AST43LP Low Presssure Non-Incendive Pressure Sensor Series holds a ATEX Class I Zone 2 Ex nA rating. Each are also certified by Sira for Class I Zone 2 Ex nA IIC T4 Gc.

Wison Announces Venezuela Contract

Wison Offshore & Marine Ltd., a subsidiary of the Wison Group, announced has the award of a contract to supply key modularized components for a major refinery project in Venezuela. The project, known as the Venezuela Puerto La Cruz Refinery Deep Conversion Project, was awarded to Wison Offshore & Marine by Hyundai‐Wison, a consortium of Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (HDEC), Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. (HEC) and Wison Engineering Ltd. (Wison Engineering), following a competitive bid. Procurement and Construction contractor for the project under an Prime Contract with the refinery owner, Petroleos De Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA).

TDW Opens First Korea Office

This new office will enable TDW to provide customers in the region with technical solutions based upon its specialist pipeline intervention and isolation technologies.
