Vessel Seeks Other Port on Expected Freeport LNG Delay

At least one liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel gave up on Freeport LNG's export plant in Texas by Thursday after a growing number of analysts and other sources said the facility would likely not exit its seven-month outage until February or later.The Wilforce vessel, which was expected to reach Freeport in late January, changed its destination to Spain, according to ship tracking data from Refinitiv.Last week, at least two vessels, Elisa Larus and Corcovado LNG, also changed their destinations from Freeport to other ports.Although Freeport LNG on Thursday said that the plant is still on track to restart in the second half of January…

Crowley Maritime Corp.’s Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) services group has been awarded a second, multiyear contract to supply containerized, U.S.-sourced LNG to a pharmaceutical company’s manufacturing plants in Puerto Rico. The contract, executed through Crowley’s Carib Energy subsidiary, includes the fuel supply and transportation of LNG, helping the customer yield lowered emissions and an alternative to their current fuel source, diesel. Other benefits include an uninterrupted fuel supply due to the abundance and availability of U.S.-sourced LNG.

Crowley to Ship LNG to Coco Cola Puerto Rico Plant Long Term

Crowley’s Carib Energy has been awarded a multi-year contract to supply containerized, U.S.-sourced Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to its first industrial customer, Coca-Cola Puerto Rico Bottlers in Cayey and Club Caribe in Cidra, both wholly owned subsidiaries of CC1 Companies, LLC. The contract, executed through Crowley’s Carib Energy subsidiary, includes the fuel supply and transportation of LNG to two of the manufacturer’s plants in Cayey and Cidra, Puerto Rico, which will provide both facilities with substantially lowered emissions and an alternative to their current fuel source, diesel.

GDF SUEZ Gas: Non-Binding LNG Supply Offering

Company plans to supply LNG to the northeastern U.S. GDF SUEZ Gas NA has announced  the advanceLNG Project, an initiative to provide attractively priced LNG to a wide array of customers in the U.S. Northeast. Starting today through December 31, 2013, GDF SUEZ Gas NA is accepting non-binding bids for LNG supply from the proposed project. While LNG from GDF SUEZ Gas NA's facility in Everett, Massachusetts has helped for more than 40 years to assure sufficient supplies of natural gas in New England, particularly during the coldest winter periods, the LNG market has vastly expanded.

LNG-Powered Ship in Chinese Waterways

China Natural Gas, Inc. (Nasdaq GM: CHNG), a provider of compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicular fuel and pipeline natural gas for industrial, commercial, and residential use in Xi'an, China, announced that a ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and modified by the company successfully completed its test navigation in Wuhan on August 3, 2010. The event is the first time an LNG-powered ship has navigated in China's domestic waterways, demonstrating that LNG can be used both in cars and ships as a transportation fuel. The company succeeded in fueling a tugboat weighing over 300 tons with LNG for Wuhan Ferry Company. The ship now runs on a fuel formula of 30% diesel and 70% natural gas, representing significant energy and cost savings.

ExxonMobil Announces Completion of $2-Billion Sable Gas Project

Exxon Mobil Corporation announced the completion of the $2-billion Sable Offshore Energy Project off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, with the delivery of the first sales gas into the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline. The project consists of three offshore platforms, a 125-mile subsea pipeline, natural gas-processing and fractionation plants and a 650-mile gas sales pipeline to New England, and is consistent with ExxonMobil's strategy of increasing gas and liquids production and expanding opportunities in key markets. Initial production to the project's newly-constructed gas plant in Goldboro, Nova Scotia, commenced in mid-December and has averaged approximately 100 mcfd.
