Thrane & Thrane Starts Sailor 500

Thrane & Thrane started delivery of 200 Sailor 500 FleetBroadband terminals for implementation by partner, Polaris Electronics aboard the Maersk Line fleet. The roll-out follows shortly after A.P. Moller - Maersk signed a significant contract with Polaris Electronics for the supply of the terminals. Delivery completion is expected end October 2010. With the completion of this supply Thrane & Thrane has delivered a total of 370 Sailor 500 FleetBroadband to A.P. Moller - Maersk. Clipper Tankers Selects KVH

Clipper Marine Services A/S of Copenhagen, Denmark, is the latest commercial maritime operation to take advantage of the broadband access and affordable service offered by KVH Industries (Nasdaq: KVHI) and its compact TracPhone V7 satellite communications system and the mini-VSAT Broadband service. In the coming months, 22 of Clipper Tankers’ vessels will be equipped with KVH’s 24-inch (60 cm) TracPhone V7 antenna along with multiple voice service lines and broadband Internet, e-mail, and data access throughout the mini-VSAT Broadband network’s expanding global coverage area. Clipper will continue to benefit from its Inmarsat systems and service, however, thanks to the TracPhone V7’s full compatibility with Dualog software.

Sunbelt Spirit installs Offshore Systems Dual ECDIS

Offshore Systems Ltd. installed a dual ECPINS 5000 system on the M/V Sunbelt Spirit, a combined vehicle and refrigerated cargo carrier that mainly trades between Japan and the United States. Offshore Systems’ ECPINS 5000 is an IMO approved ECDIS equipped with rich features, including Radar Image Overlay which improves situational awareness. The installation was performed en route Newark (NJ) – Port Canaveral (FL) by Offshore Systems distributor, Polaris Electronics A/S of Denmark. The M/V Sunbelt Spirit is managed by Fairfield-Maxwell Services Ltd. (FMSL), New Jersey, USA. FMSL has extensive experience with a broad range of ships including crude and product tankers, reefers, multi-purpose Ro-Ro, general cargo carriers, chemical carriers and car carriers.
