Terminal Industry Committee 4.0 Established

Recognizing the need for the container terminal industry to prepare for the 4th industrial revolution and to further advance digitalization, an open group of 15 global private container terminal operators and some port equipment manufacturers has recently met in Brussels on 30thMay 2018 at FEPORT (The Federation of European Private Port Companies and Terminals) premises to discuss the current challenges for the cargo handling industry. Digitalisation of Ports is Fourth Industrial Revolution

The digitalisation of ports and terminal operations offers ways to realise a “fourth industrial revolution”, bringing with it safety, operational, and environmental benefits, delegates heard at the Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) annual general meeting, which was held in the Spanish port city of Bilbao. Port Equipment Manufacturers Assoc. Expands

The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) announced the incorporation of two new member companies: crane manufacturer Terex Cranes and container logistics solutions designer Loxystem AB. Terex Cranes has 50 manufacturing facilities worldwide and sales in 170 countries.
