Monjasa Inks Deal to Distribute Green Ammonia for Shipping

On 6 February 2023, Monjasa and HØST PtX Esbjerg have signed a Commercial Collaboration Agreement (CCA) on logistics services and offtake of green ammonia for the maritime sector. According to the CCA, Monjasa will provide logistics services that will enable distribution of green ammonia from HØST PtX Esbjerg, which is a Danish power-to-ammonia project managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).As a maritime logistics partner, Monjasa has the possibility to provide the offtake partners of HØST PtX Esbjerg with green ammonia.

Liebherr Delivers Mobile Harbor Crane to Port Esbjerg

Last week, Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH delivered a new LHM 800 High Rise mobile harbor crane to its customer Port Esbjerg.The delivery took place shortly after an incident in the Kiel Canal, in which an LHM 600 ordered by Port Esbjerg was damaged while passing under the Holtenau High Bridge.Liebherr-MCCtec Rostock GmbH said it sent service engineers and technical specialists to assess the situation on site and to assist with the recovery immediately after the incident. Every effort was made to deliver a replacement unit to Port Esbjerg as quickly as possibleā€¦

CBED's Wind Innovation SOV Extends Stay at German Wind Farm Project

Offshore accommodation company CBED has won a contract extension for its Wind Innovation service operations vessel Wind Innovation.Back in May, the company secured a contract for the vessel at the DanTysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms in the German North Sea.Now, the extension has been secured with the wind farm owner, a joint venture between Vattenfall Europe Windkraft GmbH and Stadtwerke München GmbH Vattenfall, securing full activity for the SOV, Wind Innovation, from Q1 to Q4 2023.

Total Extends Havila PSV Charters in Denmark

Norwegian offshore vessel operator Havila Shipping has won contract extensions for two of its platform supply vessels with Total in Denmark.Havila said Monday that Total DK, a Danish subsidiary of the French oil major Total, had declared extension options for the contracts for the 2010-built Havila Fanø and 2009-built Havila Herøy offshore vessels.Total DK has declared options for three months from June 1, 2021, for the two platform supply vessels and has options for further extensions for 4x1 months for each vessel.  According to AIS data, the 80,4-meter-long Havila Herøy is currently in the Danish North Sea, serving Danish oilfields. The Havila Fano is in the Port of Esbjerg.

Scandinavia's Largest Offshore Wind Farm Opens

European energy giant Vattenfall opened Scandinaviaā€™s largest offshore wind farm, Horns Rev 3.The 49 wind turbines on the Horns Rev 3 also represent Vattenfallā€™s and Denmarkā€™s largest offshore wind farm, which is located 25-40 kilometers off Denmarkā€™s west coast in the North Sea.Yesterday (22 August 2019), Crown Prince of Denmark accompanied by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and the Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Dan Jørgensen officially opened Denmarkā€™s, Scandinaviaā€™s and Vattenfallā€™s largest offshore wind farm.ā€œHorns Rev 3 is the largest offshore wind farm in Scandinavia and shows our commitment to Denmarkā€™s ongoing transition to a renewable energy system.

Port Esbjerg Expands Capacity with Liebherr

Maersk Drilling Bags 2 North Sea Contract Extensions

Maersk Drilling has been awarded contract extensions for the high-efficiency jack-up rigs Maersk Resolute and Maersk Resolve by Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V. and Wintershall Noordzee B.V., respectively. The extensions allow the two rigs to continue their high-performance operations in the North Sea. Maersk Resolute has been awarded a 56-day contract extension by Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V., continuing its work in the Dutch Sector of the North Sea where it has drilled multiple wells since commencing operations in June 2017. During the campaign, Maersk Resolute has drilled the shallowest horizontal gas well in the A&B area, something Petrogas has noted as a great achievement while also praising the high operational standard of Maersk Resolute.

SAL Heavy Lift Inks Deal for Horns Rev 3 Shipments

SAL Heavy Lift said it signed a contract with GeoSea NV for the shipment of a total of 49 transition pieces for the Horns Rev 3 Offshore Wind Farm.The assignment compiles transportation of TPs from fabrication yards in Aalborg, Denmark and Vlissingen, Netherlands to the project port of Esbjerg in Denmark. SAL must prepare a full HSSE and Quality plan, create the technical design and finalize the engineering work, execute procurement as well as fabrication of five TP grillages and one lifting tool and get the vessel ready to load the first units.Each of the 49 TPā€™s measures 32ā€¦

Petrogas Hires jack-up Maersk Resolute

Maersk Drilling has been awarded a new contract with Petrogas E&P Netherlands B.V. for the High Efficiency jack-up, Maersk Resolute. The firm contract covers the drilling of the two wells, A8 and A9 in the A12 block of the Dutch continental shelf. The drilling of the two wells is estimated to have a duration of 75 days. Furthermore, an option to extend the contract for up to five additional wells exist. Operations are expected to commence in June 2017 in the Dutch Sector of the North Sea. ā€œI am very pleased that Maersk Drilling has been able to secure a new contract for the jack-up, Maersk Resolute. Despite the current market situation, Maersk Drilling continues to be able to build on its contract backlog.

Aeolus Installs First Luchterduinen Turbine

The construction of the new offshore wind farm Luchterduinen entered its final and most noticeable phase yesterday, with the installation of the first wind turbine by Van Oordā€™s new transport and installation vessel, the Aeolus. The other 42 wind turbines will be installed during the coming weeks. The wind farm is expected to be put into operation in August. The components of the wind turbines (tower, nacelle, blades) shall be transported from their construction location to the port of Esbjerg in Denmark. The Aeolus has sufficient capacity for the transportation and offshore installation of all the components of eight wind turbines at once. It shall take the Aeolus 30 hours to sail from Esbjerg to Luchterduinen wind farm.

DONG Energy Expands in the Port of Esbjerg

The positive development within the offshore industry has made its impact on DONG Energy, which is a significant player in the market. The increased activity has made it necessary to extend the company's office and storage facilities in the Port of Esbjerg. Therefore, DONG Energy has entered into an agreement with Blue Water Shipping to expand the two companies' existing lease agreement. Blue Water Shipping will invest around DKK 55 million in the renovation and rebuilding to meet DONG Energy's requirements for additional office facilities, storage buildings, parking lots and surrounding areas. The existing office building will be expanded by 700 square metres and a nearby storage building will be transformed to a two-storey office with direct access to the existing office.

Welltec Opens New Factory in Esbjerg

Oil service company Danish Welltec signed an agreement to set up a factory in Esbjerg. The factory will enable Welltec to increase production and ensure the quality of the companyā€™s newest and most advanced products, which are exported globally. Mayor Johnny Søtrup looks forward to welcoming the company in the EnergyMetropolis. ā€œTogether with Esbjerg Business Development Center I have been in dialogue with Welltec since the spring. Denmark's Largest Harbour Further Expands

The Port of Esbjerg's 650,000 sq. m expansion of  Østhavn (ā€œEast Harbourā€) opens to consolidate its position as a leading North Sea port for the wind turbine industry. The opening ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Esbjerg, Johnny Søtrup and the Danish Minister of Transport, Henrik Dam Kristensen. Representatives from the wind turbine industry will be the first to move into the new area, which features facilities specially designed for testing, pre-assembly and shipping of offshore wind turbines.

Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DFM: GULFNAV), has recently announced the appointment of Mr. Per Wistoft Kristiansen as Chief Executive Officer. Per will lead the company's expansionary mission of growth. Kristiansen has 29 years of experience across Europe, Asia and the United States. He worked as managing director at Transpetrol Belgium and previously headed the port of Esbjerg in Denmark, and served maritime and shipping companies like D/S Norden A/S, Toro Energy Sam, and A.P Moller Group.
