Navy Awards $11m Option to Alion

Alion Science and Technology announced the Navy’s Program Executive Office for Aircraft Carriers has funded the second, one-year option period under the Program Executive Office for Aircraft Carriers contract, awarding Alion $11m in funding for program management support. Alion is providing business and finance, engineering, logistics, integrated warfare systems and program management support to PEO Aircraft Carriers for the CVN-77 new construction, refueling and complex overhaul activities, In-Service, Smart Carrier, and the CVN-21 programs. The period of performance for this option runs from January 1 through Dec. 31, 2007. The initial support contract, valued at $125 million, was awarded in October 2003. The work is being performed at the Washington Navy Yard.

Navy Accepts Delivery of Ronald Reagan

The Navy today accepted delivery of the newest aircraft carrier, Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). (NGNN) in December 1994. Reagan's first deployment is scheduled for 2005 from her San Diego, Calif. homeport, which is home to two other US aircraft carriers.
