Port Groups Join for Go Green Initiative

Five global container port operators have jointly undertaken a week-long initiative to promote sustainable resource usage  in their respective port and facility networks through mass recycling.During the fifth annual Go Green Initiative, 8,332 employees of DP World, Hutchison Ports, PSA International, Port of Rotterdam and Shanghai International Port Group collected a total of 1,966 kg of aluminium cans and 2,227 mobile phones for recycling.The choice of two very different waste products for collection and recycling was intentional.Aluminium cans are one of the most recyclable waste items, while mobile phones are e-waste that contain…

Singapore Opens $3.5bln Phase 3 and 4 of Pasir Panjang Terminal

The $3.5 billion Phase 3 and 4 expansion of Pasir Panjang Terminal was officially opened by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Tuesday (June 23). The expansion will add 15 berths with a 6 km quay length to the container terminal's existing 52 berths. The new berths have an 18 m-deep draught. LYG-PSA Container Terminal Opening

LYG-PSA Container Terminal (LPCT) was officially opened today by Lianyungang Municipal Party Committee Member & Director-General of Lianyungang Port Authority Mr Wu Yi Qiao, Lianyungang Port Group (LPG) Chairman Mr Bai Li Qun and PSA International Group CEO Mr Tan Chong Meng. LPCT marks PSA International’s first collaboration with Lianyungang Port Group. The opening ceremony, which took place at the Jiangsu Haizhou Bay View Hotel in Lianyungang, China, was witnessed by over 200 distinguished guests from the ports and shipping industry and government agencies in Lianyungang. Mr Wu Yi Qiao, Lianyungang Municipal Party Committee Member & Director-General of Lianyungang Port Authority, commented, “The partnership between LPG and PSA brings in unprecedented potential for development.
