Yinson's First FPSO for Brazil Arrives at Second Shipyard

Malaysia's Yinson said its floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) Anna Nery sailed away from the Cosco Qidong shipyard in Jiangsu, China and has entered drydock at the Cosco Changxing shipyard in Shanghai, marking the next phase of the FPSO construction.FPSO Anna Nery, which is being built from a converted tanker Falcon, is Yinson’s first asset planned for deployment in Brazil and the largest project to date. DEME Launches Orion

COSCO Singapore Wins FSRU Deal

Cosco (Qidong) Shipyard Co, a subsidiary of Cosco Corp's 51 per cent subsidiary Cosco Shipyard Group Co, has entered into an agreement with a European buyer for the construction of the floating storage regasification unit (FSRU) module. Cosco Corp did not identify the European buyer. COSCO Qidong and the European buyer have agreed to keep the contract prices confidential. Delivery of the module is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018. A press statement from the company said that brring any unforeseen circumstances, the above transaction is not expected to have a material mpact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of the Company for the year ending 31 ecember 2017.

Cosco Sinks into the Red

Singapore-listed ship repair, marine engineering and dry bulk shipping company COSCO Corporation (Singapore) Limited has recorded a net loss of USD 11.7 million in the first quarter of 2016, compared to a net profit of USD 4.2 million in the corresponding quarter of 2015. The deep is attributed mainly to the poor shipbuilding and dry bulk shipping businesses.The group booked lower revenues from shipyard operations and dry bulk shipping. Revenue fell by 27% year-on-year to $716.6 million owing to lower contributions from shipbuilding and dry bulk shipping, partially offset by higher revenue from ship repair. Turnover from dry bulk shipping and other businesses decreased 45.2% to $5.7 million in Q1 2016 on decreased charter rates.

The Vigorous: Investing in the Future

The largest floating drydock in the United States, the Vigorous, has arrived at Vigor Industrial’s Portland shipyard. What’s happening? Vigor Industrial’s new floating drydock, the Vigorous, is headed towards Portland. See our news release for details of arrival. What is the Vigorous? The Vigorous is the largest floating drydock in the United States. The Vigorous will be 300 feet longer and one and a half times the width of Vigor’s largest drydock, with more than three times the lifting capacity. What’s a floating drydock? A floating drydock is a U-shaped marine vessel used to service and build ships. Operators let water into the drydock through valves to submerge it, which allows ships to drive in and out of the drydock.

Scana to Supply FPSO Mooring Winches

Scana Industrier ASA subsidiary, Scana Offshore Vestby, has signed a winch supply contract with UK-based Dana Petroleum. The contract is for delivery of mooring winches for Dana Petroleum's new floating production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) which will be used in their Western Isles Development Project. The total value of the contract is 57 MNOK. Dana Petroleum plc is a $4 billion oil and gas business with operations in the UK, Egypt, Norway, The Netherlands and Africa. The Western Isles Project (Dana 77% and Cieco 23%) will develop two discovered oil fields called Harris and Barra in the Northern North Sea, 160km east of the Shetlands and 12km west of the Tern field. The FPSO will be based on Sevan Marine technology and built at COSCO Qidong Shipyard in China.

Sevan Driller Completed

On June 28, the Sevan Driller, first circular drilling rig prepared for drilling at a water depth of almost 4,200 m was named at COSCO Shipyard Group's Qidong Shipyard. A grand naming ceremony was held at the site to celebrate the completion. The Sevan Driller is designed to drill wells of up to almost 13,500 m (40,000 ft) in water depths of up to nearly 4,200 m (12,500 ft) and has internal storage capacity designed to carry up to 150,000 barrels of oil.
