Raytheon Anschütz Launches NautoPilot 5000NX

Raytheon Anschütz launched NautoPilot 5000NX, a new autopilot for ships which the company says combines unique algorithms for precise steering performance with a wide range of fuel-saving features. NautoPilot 5000NX displays all navigational information on a 7-inch graphical touchscreen.“Years of experience in the field has shown that autopilots can also help save significantly on fuel,” said Olav Denker, product manager for autopilots and steering control systems at Anschütz.

Raytheon Anschütz is introducing a new “Docking Display” as an optional feature for the Conning NX navigational ship software.The Docking Display provides a navigator an overview of ship data at a glance and a chart window to facilitate docking. New Maritime Rescue Radar Systems Launched

When a person goes overboard, finding her or him quickly is crucial in order to have a chance of rescuing the shipwrecked person. With the SEERAD project, Fraunhofer FHR is joining forces with FH Aachen and Raytheon Anschütz GmbH to develop a new sea rescue radar that is not only capable of reliably locating individual persons or small boats over long distances but also cheaper than the current systems.With this system, small transponders located in life jackets, for instance, will reflect the signals of future maritime radars, which then receive these signals using an extension module.
