ABS Verifies Non-flammable Blue G Battery System Design

Classification society ABS announced it has issued New Technology Qualification (NTQ) for non-flammable battery technology for use at sea.Called Blue G, the vanadium redox flow battery system from Gennal Engineering PTE LTD is now planned to move into prototype testing later this year.The Blue G battery is comprised of a water-based electrolyte solution, storage tank, stack cell and regulating pump. ABS Rules Guide New Greener OSV

Integrated Bridge for Malaysian built PSV

Raytheon Anschuetz Singapore Pte Ltd. has been awarded a contract about the supply of an Integrated Bridge and Navigation System to a new Platform Supply Ship (PSV) built at Nam Cheong Dockyard of Malaysia. The delivery will take place Q3 2012. The 79 meters long, DNV classed vessel will be equipped with a Raytheon Anschütz Integrated Bridge System, projected and supplied by Raytheon Anschuetz Singapore. Raytheon Anschütz announced the establishment of the new subsidiary Raytheon Anschuetz Singapore Pte Ltd. With the new company, Raytheon Anschütz expands its sales and service activities in Southeast Asia. It started operation on March 1, 2009. “The new service center is an important step to secure best possible customer support in this region,” says Jan-Christoph Lötzsch, Managing Director of Raytheon Anschuetz Singapore. “Our skilled and experienced service engineers are trained to take care of our wide range of navigation and communication systems for ships”.
