O’Reilly Named Troy Line Expert Supervisor

Based in the company’s Red Bank, N.J. office, O’Reilly will oversee the unification of the FCL and LCL Export departments. Troy Container Line Adds New Sales Representative

Troy Container Line Ltd., an American-owned NVOCC, announced the appointment of Paul Keany as sales representative. Based in the company’s Red Bank, N.J. office, Keany has been charged with expanding Troy Container Line’s long-standing tradition of personalized service and care in New Jersey, Philadelphia and the Baltimore region. In this position, he will work closely with the company’s current clients while also establishing new relationships in the Northeast and beyond. With a 30-year background in sales for both ocean carriers and NVOCCs, Keany brings extensive experience as well as long-standing industry relationships to the Troy Container Line team.

Troy Container Line Ltd, announced May 14, 2012 the appointment of three key personnel to management positions. Svetlana Azimova has been named Assistant Vice President of Troy Container Line’s Freight Cashier Department; Jonathan Lasker has been appointed Assistant Vice President of the company’s Import Department; and Michael C. Troy II is now the Global Account Manager of Troy Container Line’s Sales Department. Svetlana Azimova has been an integral part of the Troy Container Line team for the past seven years.

It's sometimes said that great harbor cities don't appreciate their harbors, so the city of New York must be an exception. Look what happens every Fourth of July. For years without missing, regular as clockwork, Macy's fireworks display has locked-down the harbor with skies in eruption, which the masses trek shoreward to see. Around either side of that date, the fireworks season brings the burghers of Manhattan, the boaters and bathers of the Boroughs to their esplanades and beaches. Few of them know how those big black barges full of fireworks got there, but lo and behold, there they are.

JFK Towed to Philadelphia for Storage

The decommissioned aircraft carrier John F. Kennedy (CV 67) is scheduled to arrive March 22 at the Navy's Inactive Ships Maintenance Facility in for preservation and storage. Due to safety and security concerns, the ship will not be open for tours while in storage in . A contracted tug boat began towing the inactive carrier John F. Kennedy from Norfolk Naval Station on March 17. The ship was originally scheduled to be towed to in August 2007, but was instead towed to while the Navy dredged in the vicinity of Pier 4 to further increase the safety of the ship mooring process and the surrounding waterway. Navy Tows JFK from Norfolk to Philadelphia for Storage

The decommissioned aircraft carrier ex-John F. Kennedy (CV 67) departed Norfolk Naval Station, , March 17 and is currently in tow to the Navy’s Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility in . The ship is scheduled to arrive at the Navy’s facility on March 20 for preservation and safe storage until a decision is made by the Secretary of the Navy on the carrier’s final disposition. A contracted tugboat will tow the carrier up the East Coast to via the . Transportation Industry Executive, Gerald P. Toomey, Dies at 73

Transportation industry veteran Gerald P. Toomey died on Monday, November 19, at the Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, NJ. He was 73. During his long tenure inthe transportation industry, Toomey was best known for his contributions at Sea-Land Service, Inc. where he worked from 1963 until 1974. There, he was instrumental in the development of the company’s Puerto Rico and Caribbean trades, and he ultimately served as Sea-Land’s group vice president, Caribbean. In 1974, when Sea-Land spun off its Puerto Rico/Caribbean division, Toomey took the helm of Puerto Rico Marine Management, Inc.
