Saudi Aramco, Total in USD1bln Pact

Saudi Aramco and Total hasve signed a joint venture agreement to develop a network of fuel and retail services in Saudi Arabia.The 50:50 JV plans to invest around $1 billion over the next six years in the Saudi fuel retail market and start providing motorists with premium fuels and retail services in the Guf kingdom.“This is a major milestone which will help establish a quality retail fuel network in the Kingdom. MOL Group Seeks Startups Offering Innovative Solutions

MOL Group has announced a call for applications for startups with innovative solutions in the fields of mobility, loyalty marketing and big data, retail, as well as parcel delivery and distribution. The 3-month program, taking place in Budapest, in cooperation with the Hungarian incubation agency Design Terminal, is directed at startups whose solutions meet one of the objectives of MOL Group’s 2030 strategy: to become the first choice of customers on the move. MOL Group invites startups whose solutions are currently at developed incubation phase. MOL teamed up with Design Terminal, a Budapest-based incubation agency which has hands-on experience and a proven track record in successfully working with startups to implement the programme.

Pep Boys Selects NRS for Transload Operation in Savannah

National Retail Systems, Inc. (NRS), a provider of logistics services to U.S. retailers, pharmaceutical companies and consumer goods manufacturers, announced it has been selected by Pep Boys, an automotive aftermarket service and retail chain, to provide an import container transload solution at the Port of Savannah. NRS will dray Pep Boys container imports from the Port of Savannah to the company’s crossdock facility in Pooler four miles from the port. NRS’s facility is specifically designed for high-speed, high-volume transload, which reduces logistics costs by transferring freight from ocean-going containers to larger and safer over-the-road trailers. The 176-door crossdock and special project warehouse stretches almost a quarter of a mile long on 52 acres.

BC Ferries Launches Another Vessel

The hull and superstructure of BC Ferries’ Coastal Inspiration was officially launched at a special ceremony today in Flensburg, Germany. The ship is the second in a series of three new vessels being built at FSG Shipyards, and is expected to be completed in early 2008. The keel of the third Super C-class vessel, Coastal Celebration will be laid in Germany, and during the third week of September, the first vessel, Coastal Renaissance will set sail for British Columbia. The Super C-class vessels will be the largest double-ended ferries in the world. Each will carry 370 vehicles and 1650 passengers. Passengers will find more space, more comfortable seating and better viewing areas on the two passenger decks of these ships than on any other passenger ferries.

Construction Begins on BC Ferries New Vessel

BC Ferries announced that construction has begun on the second of the company’s next generation Super C-class vessels at Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft shipyards. Coastal Inspiration is the second in a series of three new double-ended ferries that will arrive in B.C. in late 2007 and early 2008. Construction of the first vessel, Coastal Renaissance started in August 2006 and construction of a third vessel, Coastal Celebration is expected to begin in April 2007. When completed, the Super C-class vessels will be the largest double-ended ferries in the world, featuring two passenger decks providing an unprecedented travel experience for BC Ferries customers.
