Geoquip Names Turner CEO

Geotechnical data acquisition company Geoquip Marine appointed Richard Turner as its new Chief Executive Officer with former CEO Stewart Higginson moving to the role of Executive Chairperson. Existing Chairperson, Peter Østergaard Nielsen will remain on the Geoquip Marine board as a Non-Executive Director.Turner has considerable experience as a CEO and specifically of the offshore energy sector. He joins Geoquip Marine from British Engines, where he was also CEO. Prior to this Richard served as President and CEO of JDR Cable Systems.

IUMI Appoints Richard Turner as President

Richard Turner, European Director of Global Risk Solutions at RSA Insurance Group has been elected President of the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI).In accordance with the Articles of Association, IUMI’s Council formally elected Richard at their annual meeting which was held today, the final day of the IUMI annual conference in Cape Town. New Veripos GNSS Mobile for Offshore Positioning

Aberdeen-based Veripos, a supplier of GNSS positioning services to the world offshore industry, has extended its range of integrated mobile receiver units with introduction of a new multi-frequency system featuring GNSS heading, L-band positioning and wireless communication capabilities, the LD7. Compatible with both GPS and Glonass networks, the 272-channel system includes an additional processor for onboard configuration and customized applications separate from its GNSS engine.

Offshore Positioning Contract for VERIPOS

VERIPOS, wins a three-year contract from Neptune Marine Services (NMS) of Perth, Western Australia for its GPS augmentation service. The contract, which represents a continuation of a long-standing working relationship between the two companies, covers the provision of VERIPOS’s  Standard GPS augmentation service in addition to its Ultra and Apex2 precise point positioning facilities, the latter using both GPS and Glonass constellations. All three services will in turn be supported by VERIPOS’s Verify QC processing software for real-time and post-processing assessments of data. Neptune, one of Australia’s leading subsea engineering organisations, has additional bases in South East Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Veripos Names Senior Manager

Aberdeen-based Veripos, suppliers of GNSS positioning services to the world offshore industry, has appointed Richard Turner as Global Business Development Manager responsible for continuing development of its worldwide operations, including acquisition of new business as well as commercial and contractual negotiations. Reporting to Managing Director Walter Steedman, his brief also includes sales strategy formulation, market research and analysis, brand management and promotional activities.
